Don’t get me wrong, I like this game a lot, but there are a few neat things from other games of the genre. None of these are dealbreakers, but I wish they would add:
Weapon reach and splash damage from Torchlight 2: I liked that big slow weapons would hit multiple targets, and that long weapons hit targets farther away.
Transmogrification a la Diablo 3 and a few others: I know there’s a mod that does this, but it isn’t working right for me at the moment. I hate that my character ends up looking like a hobo from the 1970s.
Dual wield pistols at start: Not sure why we have to wait until level 25 (more if you have to grind rep up to respected) to do something that doesn’t give much (or any) advantage over other weapon types. Maybe they could work that into the Inquisitor class.
More weapon enchant slots: One enchant per item just isn’t as much fun as the socket system from other games.
Character customization: I would like more head, hair, beard and other choices when I make a character.
I’d be curious to know if there are any other things people would like.

Kinda agree, but I dunno. 2h melee weapons already have the benefit of hitting way harder and having certain ‘2h only’ skill lines.

I feel like it is a work in progress still. We have had a few transmog items make their way into the game (preorder bonuses mostly afaik), maybe we will get more later on.

Considering we have no ‘gunner’ class, that is the exact reason why you have to wait to be able to equip dual pistols. Inquisitor is shown to be using two pistols in the teaser shot so…

You’d have to remove some of the power from the items to do this… the game is balanced around these components being restricted to one per item/slot. I’m not for or against this idea, I could care less either way and it could lead to better upgrades when it comes to 2 handed weapons.

I don’t see a point in this when A) you will eventually use headgear that covers your face completely most of the time, and B) most of the game takes place with the character running away from the camera which is zoomed pretty far out for most of us, you wouldn’t see anything. Don’t get me wrong, I like customization. Honestly though, most games have shitty customization options and I don’t see GD being able to compete with even those shitty ones. I don’t think there are other ARPGs that have character customization options… D2, D3, TQ, TL, POE, Van Helsing… none of them.
One thing I would like more than anything out of character customization is better character hair. I don’t like the hair of the female character, but most of the time I just get a helmet and the problem is gone.
Both D3 and TL2 have male/female character models for each individual class, and in the case of TL2 you even have alternate hairstyles to choose from. Out of any ARPG, TL2 by far has the best physical character customization. There’s something about customizing a character this way that makes it more personal, even if most of the differences are covered in armor. TL2 got around this problem by having a helmet on/off toggle in the options to allow your face and hair to be shown. Not saying this is necessarily the direction that GD should go - that’d be up to the devs and their budget, as making new character models is pricey and could hinder further content development. But if you want a game that will give you the absolute most character development, I’d think you should consider both the skills and physical attributes of a character, not just the intricate class system. So far, no ARPG has gotten it 100% right IMO.
