Suggestions and Gripes and Additions

After a few days of playing, here are some thoughts.

Note 1: I played and loved Banished, so some of this will reference that.

Note 2: I recognize that some of these have been made before, this would be my vote for those changes.

Suggestions:

Can we please have the ability to manually upgrade housing?

Out-of-work villagers, especially farmers, should really become temporary laborers (Banished does this).

The Arborist could use a little more explanation on the building that it allows you to build fruit trees.

Could roads be built/upgraded on a tile basis? Having to wait for the entire length to be built/upgraded is annoying and forces small road segments, which are also annoying.

Could towers be placable IN walls, especially stone ones?

I feel like you should break the resources category of buildings into “Resources” and “Manufacturing.”

If the game could be loaded automatically paused, that would be nice.

Gripes:

Why do the villagers eat the preserved food before the fresh? I like pickles too, but it’s really annoying to see greens and beans spoil in massive numbers.

Can children either become immune to disease or capable of getting clothes/shoes/coats/food? They’re the vast majority of my Worm cases, and I swear I had one starve to death (only death by starvation ever!) in a house full of food.

The camera rotation really needs to be improved. Unless I missed it completely, there is no way to do a different keybind. Would love to bind E and Q to it. (Yes, I played Cities: Skylines, and yes I place alot of exploration flags by mistake).

When the Town Center bell is being rung, enough villagers to fill it run in and everyone else… goes about their lives, frequently walking straight into the raiders. Yes, they try to retreat, but raiders have bows too. Can we maybe setup an evacuation flag, or it forces them to go home?

Elevation. I hate the elevation system so very very much. Not the flattening tool so much as the complete lack of an elevation info view. Please please please can the game at least tell me how high/low a section is?

Additions (Or stuff that would be cool if added that you’re probably already planning on but I love this game and want to see it…)

More crops/crop types.
More fruit trees/fruit tree types.
Nut trees.
Sheep and Wool.
Chickens or other poultry.
Seaports.
Fishing Docks/wharfs.
Bridges.
Other awesome stuff I can’t remember at 5:30 AM.

I’ve seen a toggle function that should do this, top right corner on the screen, next to the menu button.

I’ve seen discussions about this in at least 2 other topics and it boils down to that it can’t be done at this time due to technical limitations.

+1 Would like to have this as well.

Not sure if I understood this request. If I am, click the mouse wheel, then drag around with it clicked. I guess you don’t need to have a keybind since one of your hands should be always on your mouse.

The toggle simply turns off house upgrades. That’s all.
