So, I had a silly idea of maxing out resistances (thread here), and I got some great feedback.
I’ve dumped the idea of maxing out resistances, and instead just went for a lot of “+1 to all soldier skills”. Soldier has a crazy amount of skills/modifiers that you can jam into a build (mine uses 21, 12 of which are only 1 point each), so each “+1 to all” is extremely valuable. This seems to have made a much more well rounded version of the build, still with 100% block chance and recovery.
Any feedback would be appreciated, as I think I’m going to level a character with this build in mind.
Various thoughts, feel free to skip
This build has better balanced OA/DA levels, and has good points in Cadence and Deadly Momentum, as well as a good chunk of physical resist reduction, so it should actually be able to kill stuff, compared to the other build
One thing I like about the Mythical Warborn Visor is that it lets you get 100% uptime on War Cry, which is the only debuff that applies before shield blocks, so War Cry is basically making my shield 25% more effective.
Also people pointed out that pierce resistance is one of the less useful resistances to overcap, and I swear I didn’t try to overcap it this much, it just kinda came with the gear which I chose for other reasons lol
3k DA is a lot for most content, should I move some points from Physique into Cunning?
Targo’s hammer with 100% block and recovery is probably hilarious. Also some nice AoE for clearing since I only really have Cadence for damage.
Conduit of Warring Whispers might be better than my current Amulet, and Shield Training is already overcapped by 2 so some points could be reallocated to still have it 20/10.
I use that devotion setup for extra shield stats, as the goal was 100% block chance and recovery. Agony over Warborn Gavel has that same goal, as it gives +1 to all soldier skills, which allows me to hit 22/12 on overguard, which is needed for 100% recovery. Agony also has 10% physical RR, which might not be as good as the warborn set bonus, but certainly helps.
Good point, I’m going to switch weapons because of the conversion. And I agree, Warborn Gavel is definitely better offensively, and might make the build better overall, but I really want 100% block chance and recovery, for the soul of the build.
