Temple of Osyr bossroom, how to kite?

I think the boss fight is mechanically interesting but I think the damage and stuns could be somewhat lessened. Or have the projectile fire rate of the lightning orb towers be less often.

edit: Would also be interesting if each tower fired at it’s own time so that there is more of a pattern.

Just reached that room recently with my Shieldbreaker on Elite (used an Elite merit as i don’t feel like starting on Ultimate. I’m playing it purely self fund (with no Legendary) as i’m trying to test it as a beginner build and i must say it wasn’t an easy fight.

I first tried to play as i do with most hard fights : charge the boss, hit a couple times, run away when Blast Shield is about to expire and kite while DoT and Guardians keep damaging it. Rinse and repeat when Ascension and Blast Shield are out of cooldown. Didn’t really work as the lightning spheres just kept hitting me wherever i was.

Figured i was going to die anyway so i poped a rift and rushed the boss to at least deal some damage before falling. Ghoul procced and my life went up just long enough to finish it.

So yeah, seems like the only “strategy” for that particular boss is to face tank and hope you have enough ADCtH :undecided:

Yeah I tried that boss with also my beginner Paladin. I just melted even with 18/12 inq seal + ascension  80%+35% lightning res w/o seal.

No idea why, but an older char with 18/12 inq seal and no ascension (vindicator) took 0 damage from him… that char did however have 86% max lightning res and like +100% overcap w/o seal

wierd

yes but they have very long cooldown and short duration.

But true, once you get enough damage so that you know you can kill him in less than 10 seconds one can pop one of those.

Also a pretty wierd game design “take aether cluster and hope you can kill boss in less than 10 seconds”

Not weird, I bet half of dmg of this “lightning” is physical. Your other char could wear better armor.

^ The boss’s DB

Sweet. You look at boss room and see 4 lightning shards. What kind of dmg the boss does? Guess what?
Ofc its a freaking life reduction, phyz and …. COLD .

Ramzul’s skills are loaded with damage. Inquisitor seal and ascension will help reduce the damage of the storm shotgun (it still wrecks low armor character because it does phys damage + lightning) and the turret attacks but Ramzul deals large %life reduction as well as large phys+cold+lightning.

For melee character is a dps/sustain check fight unless you have very good defences.

Heh, good to see that I am not the only one who fought the guy and thought “well, that’s one boss that I won’t be running ever again”.

HC Dark One’s Cabalist build, was running in circles hugging the wall. Had a few buttclenching moments when I got chain-stuter-stunned by the orbs spam (+70% stun resistance on the build) and boss was making a punching bag out of me or almost ate his little devastation strike.

The orb’s projectile attacks need some tweaking because currently they’re are just too much to handle with the random movement, stun and ammount.

yeah right now GT is updated sweet

No they both had crap armor like 1.5k and around 40% physical res.

Bonkers boss

Still I would like the room to have some kind of pattern so that one can use pilot skills. Now it is just a mess

This char just melts in seconds

(have higher in game thanks to 3 crafted items with Angrim’s armor bonus)

This char takes almost 0 damage (no need of totem or bat/twin fangs)

(have higher in game thanks to 3 crafted items with Angrim’s armor bonus)

Like what is the difference? The RoH build have some more physical res, and higher max lightning res (88% vs 80% is after all almost 50% less damage taken)

He is the first boss I have to google to this thread. Just stomped 6act finalboss and melted on this little guy with everything highly overcaped.

Ram’zul sure is a pain in the butt, big dot coupled with physical damage with massive DA reduction and he just slaps your char to mincemeat. The best way to deal with him is by rushing straight to his melee range so he is less likely to use spells.
