I just watched three miners run halfway across the map to shelter stock and seek shelter in their town houses, despite there being a temporary shelter right next to their mine (and having a market right next to their houses). So frustrating, and a huge waste of resources considering all the food stocked in that temporary shelter that just rots, while wagons continue to service it. I might as well just demolish the shelter. This bug has been happening for a long while now.
Temporary shelters have very specific use conditions, ie. the villager is out working and severe weather occurs that they need to seek shelter from and may not make it to town in time.
We plan to improve temp shelters and communicate their usage better in the future.
Oh, that makes a bit more sense. That definitely needs to be clearer. I thought the temp. shelter was more like their temporary home while on the job. Do they also get food from the shelter, or will they run to town for it as well, despite the shelter being right there and fully stocked? If they’re not getting food from it, then that makes it even more aggravating to watch a wagon constantly supply the shelter with food that goes to waste (especially in mild seasons without any severe weather).
I’ll double check my screenshots but I’m pretty sure I did see a miner snub the shelter while seeking shelter during winter, too.
I have seen this bug reported but for other versions of the game wasn’t sure if you wanted a dupe for the current version. Here it is feel free to delete it.
Winter comes, and all workers leave their stations running home. The village is pretty far away, and they have a temporary shelter just right there.
See the shot:
In yellow circles all the stuborn villagers heading into a blizzard.
