Terraforming

I struggle to see the slope of land when it slopes towards the top or bottom of my screen. For me personally, this is my problem with terraforming. It is not always clear to me that there is a slope there and which direction (up or down) it trends. While I can clearly see the slopes that increase/decrease left to right. This could be helped if I could rotate the camera view so that I could see the land from a different direction.

How do others handle this?

You can rotate the camera using the middle mouse button!

My middle mouse button opens a dialogue outside the game with the various windows I have open. Is there not another way, say with the keyboard to rotate camera?

Check the Controls Settings.

Appreciate the help guys. With my mouse I have to press on the mouse wheel and push the wheel left or right in the direction I want the camera to rotate. Awesome!

I’ve spent 100+ hours on this game with out realizing I could rotate the camera…

It sounds like you have an atypical setup, are you running it on linux?

Straight out of the box Logitech mouse with Windows 11. I said push the wheel left or right, and that does move the camera angle slowly, but I now realize I can also just move the mouse left or right while pressing the wheel down and its quicker. Seems the wheel serves as the middle button on this mouse, with the actual middle small middle button reserved for the windows UI I mentioned earlier. Makes popping in and out of windows easy…

Oh, I see. You could probably change that behavior in the Logitech software if you wanted.
