And I’m dependent on the Miasma set. If I try any other items in these slots I lose massive dps atm its 5300 base. I’m playing HC lvl 62 - and have been farming for empowered versions or legendaries in Elite.
I haven’t found a single empowered Miasma piece or an item that would keep me in the 5k dps range. So I’m kinda stuck. I’m also farming for a rotten heart when I can create a very strong off-hand.
Miasma was amazing till 45 and is seriously lacking at 62.
Is there anything I can do about this. And do empowered set pieces drop in higher numbers post lvl 65, because at the moment I’m stuck with my set.
Any other replacments and my dps plummets.
Have I missed something?

Those are level 70 versions^
If you’re too far away from Level 70 then get the level 55 version of the toxic effigy and slithtongue. Do bounties and farm all the factions rep till revered you’d level up quickly

Also, Rep farming goes easier with bounties
Do bounties that are easy to do with easy targets whose spawn locations you know.
DO NOT craft relics and give Blood of Chthon, Tainted Brain Matter and Ancient Hearts away during bounties to gain rep
Always, always, always try to build your character so that they can perform competently even with mediocre self-found gear. Loot drops in this game are completely random, so you can’t rely on gear if you get unlucky.
If a build is underperforming in general at higher levels, it might not be viable without specific gear pieces and thus it might be worth leveling an alt build that is less gear-dependent.
To get rid of something on GrimCalc you right click it.
Not really my style of build but, if your mastery is maxed for occultist you might as well keep possession so those points are not wasted. Also i feel like those points you put into raven and hellhound would be better spent somewhere else. where? i honestly don’t know but, from my experience partial summoners don’t do to well later on.
What!!!¿? :eek: I could have sworn that at least a couple years ago (last time i saw a Mac )they had a right click. I have 11 buttons on my mouse and it’s still not enough sometimes
most list BiS items, that is not the same as requiring them
An item like Eastern Gloves is CRUCIAL for a TSS build with out the +4 to TSS - a TSS build will do badly.

I’ve been enjoying the game for some months, but fear many or most builds need certain items to make them viable.
I think you overvalue the importance of specific gear and do not even bother looking for workable alternatives. I never tried to make the jump from an Epic set to its Empowered version, I simply use what drops, so complete sets are pretty much out.
If you paint yourself into a corner with your build that only BiS gets you out of, that is a problem with your build, not the items.
You can finish the game with mediocre gear, most people do (you won’t get the best gear before that, at least not with your first chars). Better gear will obviously always help, as it should, that does not mean it is required however.
TSS will do nothing in elite unless it’s maxed which means the gloves are needed.
I’m playing Hc - I can’t afford to die - so gear is even more important. I’m using the gear needed to survive while giving enough dps.
Anything other than the miasma set gives me no dps. So i’m really dependant on empowered versions. I’ve tried many other poison equips and get no dps.
Have you played TSS non-maxed in elite? - it does very little.
If I didn’t have all my chars on hardcore - Battlemage 68 HC Conjuror 60 Druid 41 Pyromancer 40 - I wouldn’t care about gear because I could die a ton. I have TSS on my BM and TSS was useless without the +4 from Eastern gloves and + 4 bonus to that line on eastern leggings. I need these two items to make TSS useable - So i need those items for TSS to be effective in Elite.
TSS is not the strongest attack so needs more in the way of items to keep it competitive.
an Empowered off-hand gave my TSS man +1 in all skills in arcanist.
Empowered versions of items are much stronger than their weaker versions.
This becomes highlighted in HC. I’m sure in SC items matter less as you can afford to mess up.
I play SC, agreed in HC you are in a tougher spot wrt what you can get away with, as dying every once in a while is not an option.
I never focused on TSS as my main skill, I do have it in the mix of skills I am using however. +4 to a skill is not so important that it becomes unusable without it.
TSS of 12 is 111-125 lightning and 159 cold, at level 16 it is 147-165 and 207, at 20 it is 191-208 and 259, so +4 is roughly a 25% increase in damage. Definitely nice to have, but not game breaking if you do not have it.
If that is so unusable (imo it is not) that your build falls apart without that item, then I reiterate what I said earlier, if your build is reliant on a specific item, that is the fault of the build.
