The BisS List; AKA Don't Sell List

Hello! I’m relatively new to the game, and recently began trading. I’m slowly figuring out what is good and why, but would love a reference. If you want, please add in items that you think are great, and a brief description of why. In particular, I’m curious about Green and Blue items that people are pursuing. Thanks!

The List

Amulets

Rings

Medals
Black star of Deceit

Pants
Empowered Legplates of Valor

Black star of Deceit

I don’t think you are asking the right question.

You can look in the Utilities and Resources section of the forums for the equipment database. You can see all the items that way. Green items are “Rare” and have either a rare prefix or suffix or both. MIs, also green, are specific rare items that drop from particulary enemies. Blue items are “Epic”. Purple items are “Legendary”. Everything that’s BiS is either MI or Legendary.

If you want some idea of why BiS items are BiS then you should look at guides in the Build forum. Most of which show BiS items - and you are unlikely to get more than a few of them in a reasonable amount of time.

There is also a downloadable set of stash files called GDSidekick which contains every item in the game. This naturally places a cap on the trade value of items.

You shouldn’t sell blues and purples. You can use dynamite to dismantle them. This gives you a chance to get rare crafting materials which can then be traded for Legendaries at the Blacksmith in Tyrant’s Hold.

I basically keep at least one copy of every Epic or Legendary (blue and purple respectively). For rares, I only keep those that are really good - this is not something you can just use guidelines for, it takes experience to tell whether an item is good or not.
Do note that my philosophy only works due to the unlimited stash tools like Mamba’s GD Stash or slipperypete’s GD Item Assistant provide, otherwise I would run out space faster than ice cream melts in a desert.

I don’t think you’re understanding the question, at least as it was intended. The intent of the thread is “what are items no one should be vendoring/dismantling because they are good for trade bait? Please make your lists and I will compile them in the OP.”

My vote would probably go towards any legendary set and anything that gives +X to all skills of a given mastery.

Empowered Legplates of Valor

This was my intent. I think most any newb like myself knows to pay attention to Purples. However, there are some blues that are great, Black Star of Deceit, and greens that are highly desired. Would be great to have some of these more desired items in a list. Also, just a brief bit of text of why you like the item.

I understand the question. It’s a bad question.
Inkaflare gave a good answer.

It’s not a bad question, you understood it and so did everyone else. Don’t be petulant just because someone made a thread you personally don’t like.

That’s totally uncalled for.

Sometimes yellows can beat almost everything
I used to have a character that wore nothing but but yellows, only the weapons were legendaries and nothing could replace any of the items without significantly dropping stats/health/resists/damage or a combination of all so don’t overlook the following affixes just because they’re yellow:
Of potency
Of attack
Resistant
Impervious
Warding
Spellweaving
Of the eagle
Of alacrity
Of haste

All builds have varying BiS so this list could get really long. I think the mentioned Valor legplates and Black Star are a good start cuz they’re good in just about any build.

I would add Tinker’s Ingenuity to the list. Slap it on any char, great gear.

Not exactly. His point is that you can do this research yourself instead of asking around in one place. Most guides have a BiS list which helps to identify what items are good. In his mind OP just wants to be lazy. Of course it’s a matter of perspective but it’s not just him personally not liking the question, it’s sort of like how people don’t use the search functionality to get their answers.

Items not to trade:

  • Anything you only have one of
  • Anything that looks like it might be useful to a build you might play one day

Items to trade

  • Duplicates (Or triplicates if you need 2)
  • Things that you will never use
