The GOD of Cooking

So, my little experience with multiplayer threads gave me an idea…

IT’S A COOKING THREAD. WELCOME ABOARD!

>Post and share your favourite recipes!

>Bestow the divine knowledge to plebs and guide their way through ingredients!

>Discuss the latest trends in cooking world!

>Experiment with the food and post your results!

I hope this will be interesting to people around here. I personally love to cook for my family and friends. Will post some of my favourites later.

I like watching https://www.piesareawesome.com, she has a yt channel and Instagram page so you can check out her vids. Not sure if this counts since it’s baking and it’s not mine… But it’s impressive!

Hm, some of my favorite recipes currently are in cookbooks with some minor modifications, would have to transcribe them.

I like to eat whatever people with skills do :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t have my own recipes either. I usually make stuff by reading off the internet. It sometimes is disastrous since I have the bad habit of going for the top link and sometimes the taste doesn’t sit well with me

You can post the result, maybe we can help you with coordination.

I thought this thread was about Ulgrim.

Na, not needed. It can be fixed if I actually pay attention. Thanks for the offer though

I have my eyes on this thread since I am always on the lookout for something new.

Rylock soup, anyone?

I’m wondering if there are any vegetarians here? Meat products and I had a falling out about a decade ago
I find my go-to food is actually a stew I tossed together as a poor student from stuff I had in the fridge, even if you’re not a big stew fan. Now I’m no Gordon Ramsay but I’ll try to explain it as best I can:

(for 2 people)
-3-4 medium size potatoes
-2 large peppers
-a can of pre-soaked lentils (or you can use dried ones, add more water and reserve more time for the cooking) - this is optional, I just think lentils are awesome
-a can of beans of your choice (I prefer the ones in tomato sauce but plain kidney beans are good too)
-2 broth cups or stock cubes of your choice (I use the vegetable flavored one but it’s up to you)

  • 1 onion
    *salt
*some sausages for the meat lovers (4 will probably do)
    *oil for frying

Peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes, put them into a pot with one of the cups of broth.
Add water up to the point that the potato pieces are just submerged. Put the heat relatively high, but turn it to a medium when it begins to boil.

Meanwhile, wash the peppers and clean them, then cut them to small pieces.

Drain the water from the lentils (if you have the soaked ones) and the beans (unless they’re in that sweet sweet tomato sauce). When the potatoes begin to boil, put in the peppers, lentils and beans, add the last cup of broth and check on the stew from time to time and mix it so it doesn’t get stuck in the bottom. Remember to lower the heat to medium if you haven’t yet.

(The rest of the ingredients listed below don’t need to be softened by boiling, so add them towards the end of the cooking, giving them a few minutes to give flavor to the mix.)

Cut the onions, again, however big you want the pieces. It’s time to heat up a pan and put a bit of oil on it. Fry the onions until golden brown, add them to the stew.

If you’re a meat lover, cut the sausages to about a centimeter thick pieces and toss them on the pan, fry on both sides until lightly brown. Add it to the stew.

I haven’t timed this part, but the stew is ready when the potato pieces are soft, which depends on how big you left the pieces. I’d suggest to check every few minutes while you mix it anyway, the stew gets pretty thick and hefty so make sure you keep the heat on medium at the most to not burn it to the bottom of the pot. Usually around 10 minutes after you add the beans and peppers it should be ready.

Taste it towards the end and if you think it needs some more salt despite the broth, then add some! If you don’t have any salt, feel free to go get some from Grim Dawn’s Steam “Discussions” section.

Grab some bread of your choice, your ciabattas, your rye breads or what have you and enjoy <3

I’ve cooked a ton of random stuff of Ballistic BBQ from youtube and twisted food from facebook, Tho I enjoy cooking something random off the World of Warcraft cookbook a got for my birthday a while back, it’s legit. Checked em out if you’re bored lol

Fresh Salsa

10 Roma Tomatoes
1 Red Onion
2-3 Jalapeno Peppers
2 Limes
Half a bunch of Cilantro (amount varies probably so experiment)
Salt & Pepper

Combine the following:

1: Finely chopped tomatoes, red onion and jalapeno peppers (wear gloves for peppers, keep the seeds)
2: Chop Cilantro discarding majority of stems (some is fine)
3: Freshly squeezed limes adding the pulp
4: Salt and Pepper to taste

You can experiment with the amount of ingredients used + add whatever. Definitely can take awhile depending on how fine you chop everything.

Fried Rice with apples and steak

  • 1 standard packet of rice
  • a couple of apples
  • a bottle of vinegar
  • a bottle of vine, preferably thick and sweet
  • some meat for steak, preferably skirt-steak style. And always cow meat, don’t forget that
  • some pepper and salt, of course
  • some sugar

Do the following:

Wash the rice, at least 8-10 times, so it does not stick together and becomes soft.
Take the frying pan. We are going to boil our rice in there. Pour some water, so it stops barely above the rice’s surface. Start boiling…a few moments later, we have or boiled rice. Now, get rid of the leftover water.
Chop the apples in small pieces and then get them into the bowl. Take some vinegar and some sugar, pour the vinegar on apples, while adding sugar and mixing the substance. Basically, we are marinating them.
Start frying the rice, but not too much. When it has a gold colour, stop. Mix the prepared apples with the rice.
Now take the meat. Start beating it, tenderizing and adding pepper with salt. We need for it to become soft and smooth. When you are finished, you can start frying it. While you are doing that, use strong fire and turn it over often. After some time, pour the vine, but not too much, let it soak into the meat.

That’s it, enjoy your meal.

Thanks for all replies, guys, much appreciated.
