Thread title is self-explanatory. I’m honestly still amazed at how competent DevSwarm+Rend is at melting trashmobs. It’s surprisingly reliable at cleaning out rows of trash in a somewhat expedient fashion - I’ve only had a few odd cases where Rend just refused to proc and I was forced to give a few mobs a pity-whack with my axe. Rend has got to be my absolute favorite devotion proc lately.
Yeah, I have it on my Dirge pet, and my vitality conjurer likes it too.
The Huntress is a great constellation all around.
As for me, I’m always genuinely surprised when I get an actual blueprint from a guaranteed drop.
At last, at long last, the Mask of Lost Souls is mine! Mwahahaha!

The number of the day is TWO! One, TWO hellhounds!
…oh yeah, I guess there’s no reason to play this character ever again. H’m.
Lol
I keep thinking that I’m done with my Death Knight for that reason, but I keep getting more upgrades for him… Now I’m thinking about making a backup just for lols, maybe I’ll try an aether to physical conversion.
My personal favourite is CoF + Murmur, but it’s basically the same thing. Satisfying.
Impressive, isn´t it.
If you want even more of this, try this:
Bind Rend to Grasping Vines (take Entangling Vines, too) and bind Falcon Swoop to Devouring Swarm. Nearly everything is cleared and stopped before it reaches you.
Surprises:
Execution Proccs. First the HP bar of enemies melts a little bit slow and then…boom…like ice in the sunshine.
And I was really surprised (again) yesterday, when joining a Multiplayer game for trading…and my whole keyboard layout was changed. My chat looked like I was using my nose to hit the keys.
Things you are still genuinely surprised by in Grim Dawn
2H still lacks two component slots in 2017.

Spirit still doesn’t provide OA/DA in 2017
First
Amen to that
For me it’s RoS and Tainted Eruption
This, should come up more often, much more than before
Yeah! I mean, it’s not like I’ve explained to you time and again why, right?
Ah, was it impossible to do due to some limitations?

I assume you can’t do two lists of stats for each weapon? Like, Hell’s Bane ammo having 10% conversion for one handed and offhand but when applied to a two handed weapon, it will have 20%.
Just throwing ideas out there.
If I had to guess then it’s basically the same thing as removing partial components from the game right? The thing is so buried so deep within all that code that it wouldn’t be very prudent to poke it at this stage of the game, is that it?
I’m assuming it’s to do with modifying the overlay GUI to accommodate 2 components amongst other things that might entail.
Would it just be possible to have “potent” components in the same vein as augments, I mean you wouldn’t get the two skills from having two separate components but it’s probably the closest compromise to having 2h weapons get the same or more powerful bonuses from them.
Fine…I’ll explain it again.
Adding Two Components to weapons would necessitate…
- revising tech and UI for the Inventor’s Dismantling and Salvage systems.
- revising tech and UI for tooltips
- updating Components tech to allow more than one Component on some item types.
- balancing
“Potent” Components for weapons A) does not solve the problem which seems to upset the people who even take issue with this, which is the skills and B) bloats the Component pool and necessitates more item art, blueprints and room to store them.
Both of these involve way too much work for what is ultimately minimal gain, especially at this point in the game’s life-cycle.
Can you just make components behave as “potent” when attached to a 2-hander, rather than putting in a whole new category of component? I mean, it’s probably not what they want but I’d probably settle for like something between 1.33x-2x strength for components slapped onto a 2h.
That sounds even more complicated, from just about every angle.
Really? Huh. I would have thought it would be a matter of appending an extra property to components that looks for a flag on the weapon it’s being attached to but I’m not a programmer and certainly not a GD programmer.
