I’ve made 4 pyromancers, all with different skill builds and all viable in ultimate. Just sounds like you’re used to some of the easier ARPGs out there. Luckily D3 just released new content so you should probably give that a go since it’s more fitting for you
This just reeks of someone who doesn’t have a clue about the game and only played a bunch of hours (i’m ready for the “i’ve been playing for a thousand hours”).
The first one is a flat out lie. Many times i wanted to pick up a skill from one of the masteries, but i couldn’t because there wasn’t enough skill points. And other times i had to sacrifice skills points in some skills just to get other skills. So no, you never end up with the same build or you have enough skill points to make every build the same.
There are several, completely different builds that can beat the entire game without dying once. So again wrong.
I’ve been never one shotted in my around 500 hours of playtime. Some very specific enemies have dealt a big aumont of damage (Fabius and Mad Queen), but never one shotted.
I actually prefer this loot system. I would hate if the loot system favoured your class because that would mean i would have to refarm everything just to equip another character. This way, it can drop both for my class and for every other class. And the stuff that isn’t for my class, i can just trade for stuff i want because that’s what trading for.
Last, i don’t really care if you find the game mediocre, if that’s how you feel that’s fine. I’m not saying the game is perfect, i have my own issues with the game. But all your complaints, besides the loot one since it’s subjective, it’s a flat out lie.
Either he has never played am ARPG, or he’s looking to stir up trouble. I can accept a fair amount of criticism on any game, but “limited skill tree” screams troll. You could find many things to nitpick, but a limited skill tree is not one.
This. But i think it’s both at the same time. He’s obviously very inexperienced with arpg’s and frustrated. For me the only logic reason why he exposes hisself to ridicule by his own choice. Always feel sad for such people. :undecided:
Lets not let this thread grow too large before the OP even returns please. I also do not agree with what was written, but if every forum member comes here to tell him he is “wrong or trolling”, the thread will just turn into a trolling thread, regardless of the OP’s intent.
Disagreeing with him wont accomplish anything anyway. He’s already decided he doesn’t like the game. Telling him he’s wrong/trolling/whatever isn’t going to change his mind.
Best to just ignore him along with any other thread that has such a blatantly baiting title.
tl;dr: “My opinion is better than OP’s because I don’t agree with him.”
In the broader scheme of things, disregarding what the OP has said, the game only suffers if people with dissenting opinions cannot post without fear of being shat on. You can disagree with someone without resorting to baseless insults yourself, and if you can’t help yourself consider not posting at all.
Either argue his points or don’t post at all. If the OP is genuine it would be nice if he elaborated on his reasoning (as I don’t necessarily disagree, but I don’t think the competition is really any better than GD at all) but if you think he’s trolling then why the fuck are you feeding him by posting at all?
I’m a big grim dawn fan but at least greater rifts are fun while feeling more rewarding than the mind numbing crucible. I love grim dawn and the trip to 85 but afterwards feels pretty lacking. Trash mobs don’t drop anything useful and since you’re not getting exp they feel like a chore. Even champions get annoying when you go a long while without any drops. Repeats on epics and legendary drops is disheartening especially when you don’t see very many drop. I only seem to get blueprints from nemesis which is no fun to farm especially for builds that can drop every one but fabius.
Imo the end game could use some serious tweaks. D3 does this much better. On the other hand I feel that grim dawn does the trip there far better.
I don’t understand the complaint about the endgame. Sure, it would be nice if the game had more endgame, but since when does all ARPGs need to have an extensive endgame? How about when you finish the main story, you just go play something else? This same thing is happening with Pokemon where everybody keeps asking for more and more postgame.
Also, the game was officially released in February this year, did Diablo 3 had all the endgame content it has now at release? I doubt it. A lot more content is coming with an expansion (it’s also implied that more than one is being made), an upcoming Aetherial rouge dungeon and most likely other stuff.
Diablo and GD have different propositions of what a end-game is. Diablo says that you should farm endlessly to get stronger and farm more effectively to a infinite cycle or play for a few months trying to be “the best” and Blizz resets the accounts and we again go into a infinite cycle.
GD has the same proposition as Titan Quest, reroll to experiment different builds, I stopped playing D3 after the first month but by that time there was like 2 builds per characters and since its Blizz we are talking about, the way they deal with build variaty is to again do a infinite cycle of nerfs and buffs so every season we have “good” builds and “bad” builds.
So… similar games, completely different propositions of “fun”
They’re both a different grind. Still feels like an excuse. More options would be nice in grim dawn. The crucible just feels lazy compared to greater rifts. The crucible feels like a chore atm
I don’t care about endgame, I farm a bit and then am done (start a new char if I like the game enough).
D3 was boring to play, I had so little to say about my build that most of the time I did not even bother looking what options I gained while leveling up (every 10+ levels I did take a look and changed mostly nothing).
I got bored of it before I ever made it to greater rifts.
Crucible is still getting tweaked, so maybe it then scratches your itch, if not, I’d rather run some GD dungeon than D3 rift. D3 is just an endless boring grind.
