The skill isn’t strong enough by itself, you have to use something else with it. Greater Poison Bomb or Transmuted DEE work well.

But that defeats the purpose, what’s more fun than throwing shit at your foes. I just wish this expansion that shit’s good for something

Rings barely do anyting you can switch them for 2 good Golus if you need more DA. Aslo , Consumption of Agrivix help reach max crit multi on Dummy.

Making proc on off hand that support aether/fire/burn to do aether/chaos dmg was always beyond me. But nonetheless amount of crit that is offered by that off hand is superb.

Sweet changing the ring and using pet attack to get mines to attack gets me up to 140 to 170K

Its by far best off hand crit dmg vise, it adds ~15% flat crit, plus at least 5% crit more due to 10% OA increase on proc. To bad that it has high spirit requirement that makes it bit ˝expensive˝ to use.

I wasn’t but i did switch as I originally forgot about it. It raised my damage quite a bit

Its more like 20% crit when proc is on, but I really cant judge cuz I dont have off hand like yours.
Best you could do is to try it, and since your crit or OA are not so high Im really not sure, rough calculation is that on 50% existing crit dmg adding 20% more is some 13% total DOT dmg increase and you would lose about 250% burn dmg and that proc but would gain some more burn from + to inferno and some more OA.

Yeah some procs cost energy. I guess “balance” is the word for it. Personally I’d prefer a weaker proc than an OP energy leeching proc

That depend on how much OA and burning dmg you alredy have. If you are above 1700% burning dmg, then 15% crit is better. Same with OA, if you are below 3k OA, its another dmg jump.

It’s quite easy to jump 100-150k tick actually, you need multiple sources that deals 300% or more weapon damage on top of high % bonus (like 1800%+). That’s why people use Oleron Blood

Poison is even easier since Nidalla’s Justificable End add +50% crit damage on top of huge flat poison and bonus. With 26/16 SS, Oleron blood and good enough OA you can easily tick 150k+. Now more than 200k would requires good gears obviously but 70k can be achieved with just SS alone

However, remember that vanilla game and crucible doesn’t require anything more than 80k per tick. Going for more damage by all means is just for showing off

Always appreciate your input, mate. I actually seem to have a lot of trouble getting my builds to do more than 20-30k damage without a “perfect storm” of procs.

Its not required to have olerons blood or anything like that to achieve high dots, especially for poison, ofc if you want to push it to limit you should use olerons blood and rifstone combo (chaos strike) but its not essential.
Also for poison DOT DEE (among few other nukes) is your bread and butter skill not SS, SS is merely used to push up your single target dmg.

And stating that 80k is some kind of magic number and that you dont need anything more than that on pure DOT build is just plain wrong, 80k is enough but again even 30k is enough if you want to satisfy your self with mediocre dmg outputs.

Well, saying 80k alone is kinda baseless. But that is through many tests I run.

To reliably kill madqueen through DOT you need 40-50k tick. Any lower might cause frustration if you are hit by her leeching spike. 70-80k is very comfortable to kill madqueen

In crucible, 70-80k tick will allow you to kill the likes of Sentinel, Anasteria and Valdaran quickly enough before they case much trouble while keeping up the x10 bonus. 30k tick is not possible to keep up the x10, so 30k is not enough

1. Getting frustrated or not is something personal, and personally I would be very much frustrated if my pure DOT build would do 80k per tick. So 80k is maybe ok and comfortable to you but that doesn’t mean it is comfortable or ok to others.

2. I was under impression that we are talking about main game, but when you mentioned crucible you should be aware that DOT in crucible and vanilla game are not of same magnitude due to crucible buffs and banners, so 30k or w/e in vanilla is not 30k in crucible.

3. When stating what is enough than that means what is enough to kill something and finish the game not what is enough to achieve some kind of time bonus. Imagine me saying 80k DOT ticks are not enough to kill MQ under 10s so 80k is not enough.

4. Amount of DOT dmg greatly varies from enemy to enemy, for example if you are making 70-80k burn ticks on MQ you will make significantly less on Fabius or IM. So one of the reasons I told you that stating 80k as some kind magical number is plain wrong is also because you will not, no mater what, make 80k or w/e tick on all enemies.

I dont want to be rude or insult, you have right on your own opinion like every one else here, but I really do hope that after things I wrote you are realizing that deeming something as enough and everything above that as showing off doesn’t hold ground in any circumstances.
