Togglable skills QoL

Heat of the battle, constantly mowing down monsters. On and on it goes. But wait, something’s not right. Checking my togglables. Yup, half of them are off. Wonder how long they’ve been off… Eh, nevermind I’ll just have to reapply them. But which ones are off… seriously which ones? I can’t… oh there it is. Now, which one’s next…

That’s how my head goes from time to time. I want to say there is audio ques when a buffs deactivates, right? But I have never heard a buff go out it in the middle of a fight. I don’t know what would be the best approach here, a louder que would maybe be obnoxious, though I’m not at all against that. Either way, that’s really not why I’m posting. My main beef here is seeing what buffs have deactivated. Often times it should not be a problem but case in point is my Commando with 6 buffs all with yellow/orange icons. Add to that a mix of pots and procced buffs from passives. You see my point?

Anyone else have the same problem?

Press “Y” to access the alternate quickslot bar and place all toggle skills there: repress “Y” after or you won’t be able to use your other skills.

It’s a clear way to separate the two types and works like a charm.

I already have all toggle skills on a separate bar. I have 6 of them and its just hard to find out which ones are not active without squinting and comparing the icons at the active buff list with the icons on the quickbar to see which ones are missing. Maybe I’m the only one though.

Oh yeah, quite often in fact. Typically notice I got debuffed once my clear speed drops, but getting the buffs back on again is oftentimes more of a challenge than clearing the room without buffs.

Not really sure how they can fix the reactivation of buffs, but agree that some cue that you have been stripped of your buffs could be a nice QoL improvement.

Agreed! Can go unnoticed.

How about a glow effect on the skills that are not activated?

QoL: Remove enemy nullification spells from the game.

Problem solved

That’s a pretty good idea, but why not make toggle skill buttons become darker when activated and normal color when deactivated/dispelled instead? The game has far too many bright effects already, anything more and I’ll go blind! Besides, the darker shade can be interpreted as a switch held down, which is pretty intuitive IMO.

What about trying out griminternals? It doesn’t change the files, and you can see which buffs and debuffs are active on you, like when does potion of clarity run out. At the same time it allows autopickup for components. Each feature can be deactivated separately.

What about when the energy runs out?

Yeah, your idea sounds better. Skills that are on cooldown are darker already, why not apply the same principle to toggle skills, without the “clock animation”, just the darker shade.

Griminternals actually looks really promising, haven’t heard about it. Even if it won’t adress the problem we’re discussing here I’ll still try it for the other perks. Thanks!

EDIT: Tried Griminternals and its a great tool, love the HP bar auto pickup. Unfortunately its buff/debuff counters isnt as convenient as I would want so I dont use that particular function. Anyways, just a small QoL suggestion to everyone’s favorite dev team: Could we get some minor tweak to the buffs visibility?
