I see no reason, to see this as an argument, when there already exists Commander Lucius, who is the Boss of another 1-Level Dungeon, which is situated very close to the Portal, right in Fort Ikon.
You could say the same about the Slith boss down in the aquaduct below Devil’s Crossing. But in general the devs have decided not to place riftgates too close to boss farming areas. So Tyrant’s Hold won’t be getting one - nor will the bridge at Twin Falls be repairable as that would allow too easy access via the Twin Falls riftgate.
Actually, it’s because during the development of the game, the geography changed and that bridge would no longer fit.
how in the world do you get lost after going there the first time ?
the map is visible - you can see where everything is
and “moseying around” is SO BORING
hey, let’s mosey around and kill the same crap we’ve killed 200 times before just so we can get to the boss
how many people actually mosey around on their way to any of he bosses ?
I bet if you took a poll you’d find out the majority of the players run to the bosses and skip monsters all along the way
I would love to see how many people farm tyrant’s hold
I would bet most don’t make repeat runs there just because there are easier places to get to
You can just run through the mobs to get where you need to get to, it’s pretty simple to do.
Honestly that’s what I was thinking. All this talk about, “Who likes killing the same stuff over and over again just to get to a boss?”
What’s stopping you from simply bypassing the mobs?
Not exactly, as it has 2 Floors.
I love what you did with Cronley’s Hideout. It just drops you at the entrance dungeon which makes the run much more enjoyable, faster and endurable.
If you could do similar things to dungeon hotspots like Bastion of Chaos, Steps of Torment, Tomb of Archon Barthollem, etc. it would be a pretty good QoL improvement for grinders.
+1 - specially Steps of Torment, the monsters on the winding road leading to it doesn’t even scale as much as the ones inside. It was bearable before but now I only visit this place twice, for devotion/outcast quest.
As said before this isn’t going to happen. Devs purposely don’t want riftgates too close to hotspots so you’ll just have to live with it.
So it is intentional to make it far so players will be discouraged going there to farm because farming would be too easy. Weird seeing that from game genre known to be a farming fest.
You shall not farm(Steps of Torment)! Because f–k this zone in particular.
Farming fest or not, most people asking for the riftgates to be closer to hotspots want them to be right by the entrances or even in the dungeons themselves and that isn’t going to happen. They’re near enough if you want to farm and it doesn’t take long to run past mobs to get to a hotspot - even for a non-farmer like me.
Nah everything is fine, we have a spammable pocket rift.
Its another discussion if this game is too hard or not, casual players are a pain and they make every fucking game unplayable.
I want a challenge, not a brain-afk-one-button game!
Hello,
while in most cases rift gates are well placed and not too far away, in some other cases they are.
Especially when several-levels dungeons are involved.
I hope the mod-tool will allow to add rift gates.
Imarion
Yeah, it doesn’t make sense to me, because when the mod tools are released, there will be mods that adds riftgates to all the best farming spots anyway and everyone who farms will use it. And there will probably be mods that adds new farming areas with riftgates too.
Then just those specific players will have the rift gates. This makes it a more complete gaming experience for the individual. That would be the beauty of the mod - if you want it, you get it while not ruining the gaming experience for the person who doesn’t want it.
Leave the rift gates the way they are, please.
Yes, exactly. I myself would like a riftgate in the shaded basin, so I’ll probably add one and make it available to everyone. Those who don’t want it won’t get it.
That being said, I think the pacing for the main content is perfect the way it is.
Only 2 places where gates feel too far, to get to Tyrant hold and SOT
Deliberately so on the devs’ part. No easy farming runs for you!
