I started playing a new character after AoM release and I noticed one thing that I don’t like about it - too many (way too many) yellow items drop! It becomes obvious around lvl 25+. Especially in places like Royal Hive when you get full stash of yellow items in 2min. Any derm cluster - 2-3 yellows, one kill - 2-3 yellow items more , I don’t even mention killing heroes…
I understand that the devs increased the droprates but the drop rate for yellow items should definitely be lowered to the prior AoM state.
You can answer that I don’t have to pick every yellow item but I still need to check them to know if they are better than the ones I 'm using atm. It is just getting tedious. Please, revert to the old drop rate for yellows. Please!
They can’t revert to old drop rates mainly because the drop rates are the same
The item pool has increased so they increased the drop rates to reflect the current item pool. So while the drop rates are the same as before you get more items due to the amount of new stuff added
And please stop making these threads people, it’s bad enough there are threads popping up complaining about lack of good drops. Now the rising trend seems to be “too many” good drops
It is not about ‘too many drops’ it is about ‘too many bad yellow drops’. Feel the difference? ) I don’t believe the devs can’t adjust the yellow items drops independently from other tiers drop (green, epic, legs). Just decrease the droprate for yellows and increase % chance for greens, epics, legendaries to make up for the change.
Why don’t you just turn the loot filter on?
Is that a duck?
I’m lvl 39 and I still do need good yellow items there are just too many of them dropping. Start a new toon and see for yourself. Later it is not an issue but for low level characters it is.
I turn the loot filter to Rare (Green) after level 15… Yellows have little function after the start of the game, though I’m fully aware you can find really good yellow rings. It’s just that greens are absolutely everywhere and MIs are easy to farm.
I’m still using 2 yellow pistols and can’t find better ones yet (green+). Also using yellow pants and shoulders.
It’s an ape with the face of a character from the fighting game Guilty Gear photo shopped onto it. The joke or ‘meme’ about certain characters in some fighting games is that they are like gorillas based on how people typically play them/how the character is typically played and the word ‘unga’ goes along with it
I just started the game a few days ago and I was using golds–for about 20 levels. Now, I trash them all. I think it would be nice if there was a way to salvage them in your inventory on the go and turn them into components or other useful items so we wouldn’t have to ignore them all or waste time gating back and forth to sell them off.
Eh I don’t mind the easy iron. I just ignore them most of the time.
The time you spend running back and fourth between traders to sell all the yellow (magic) junk you find actually nets you less iron than you would normally make if you continue on normally and only pick up green (rare) and above (blue/purple/etc.). Generally, you’ll find more iron from a pile of bones or a loose rock than you will get for selling an inventory of yellow items.
Iron in this game is really only useful if you plan on mass crafting later. By mid Elite, I’m normally sitting on around 1.5 million iron which is more than enough to just build bridges and craft the occasional relic, component, or piece of gear, but if you plan on stopping around level 80ish and mass crafting some legendary gear to get the best stats, you’re going to need at least 10 million iron just to get a few pieces. Most legendary gear costs over 100k iron bits just for one piece.
But one more thing to consider - yellow items are often better than green ones. Especially jewelry and weapons. If you use greens + only you miss on possible upgrades. The droprate for yellow items before 1.0.2.0 was ok. Now it is a bit too much.
To make it clear - we are talking in this topic about <50lvl gameplay. Because after 50lvl it is generally ok to switch the loot filter to green+.
I agree it is a bit too much, especially early game. That being said, and it might differ with the class you play, I don’t think spending a few minutes after each fight - sifting through the yellows - is worth the time just for a chance of a small upgrade. Green items drop frequently enough that you should be able to find better gear in decent intervals without relying on yellows.
My level 86 Witch Hunter is still using two yellow rings because I haven’t found any greens with as much health, OA, and resists as the ones I’m using.
Yes, jewelry was the main reason I didn’t want to switch to the green+ filter until 50lvl. It would be nice if jewelry were easily seen and distinguished in the yellow items drop on the ground. But I honestly don’t know how it could be done
Path Of Exile has insanely customizable item filters so maybe there is possibility to implement something like this in GD?
