GDMS v1.38 is now ready and released for GD 1.2
GDMS v1.37.5 moved to new repository and will support GD 1.1.9.8

Users using GD1.1.9.8 will have to use the updater twice. Because the first update will download GDMS1.38 for GD1.2 … After starting it will tell you that the current version is not compatible and will download GDMS1.37.5 from other repository.

v1.38 (GD 1.2)

  • Added new sort criteria “rarity” to sort MI’s and DR’s
  • Locales directory is back! Languages files getting extracted from resource into that directory.
  • Fixed unknown affix “records/items/gearweapons/focus/b203c_focus.dbr”
  • Fixed missing localization string “item_class_relics”

v1.37.5 (GD 1.1.9.8)

  • Added new sort criteria “rarity” to sort MI’s and DR’s
  • Moved to new repository “GDMultiStashOld” to support GD 1.1.9.8 in the future
  • Locales directory is back! Languages files getting extracted from resource into that directory.
  • Fixed unknown affix “records/items/gearweapons/focus/b203c_focus.dbr”
  • Fixed missing localization string “item_class_relics”

v1.39 / v1.37.6 (GD 1.1.9.8)

  • Position of main window will now be saved and restored on startup
  • Added config option to set start position state to normal, minimized or tray
  • Selecting stashes (via shift click) in main window now works correctly
  • After sorting stashes empty stashes will be deleted (like in earlier versions) but only if the stash is not a main stash or locked
  • Fixed an issue that was causing huge lags when selecting multiple stashes (via shift click)
  • Empty groups will now be displayed a little bit faded

v1.39

  • Updated database to grim dawn version 1.2.0.2

Hi I’ve been getting these errors when i open the ‘edit tabs’, any idea what might be causing it?

[16:42:10.054] [MessageBox] [Hand] Unknown affix record: records/items/gearhead/a02_head003.dbr
[16:42:14.660] [MessageBox] [Hand] Unknown affix record: records/items/gearhead/a02_head003.dbr
[16:42:15.326] [MessageBox] [Hand] Unknown affix record: records/items/gearfeet/c007_feet.dbr
[16:42:17.803] [MessageBox] [Hand] Unknown affix record: records/items/gearlegs/a04_legs01.dbr

Thats no big problem. It means there is something missing in my database. I gonna take a look. Thx for the info

Edit: Should be fixed now.
It now uses a fallback if the affix record has not been found. Then it searches for the record in item list.

v1.39.2 / v1.37.6.2 (GD 1.1.9.8)

  • Fixed unknown affix record error when an item uses an other item as affix

v1.39.3 / v1.37.6.3 (GD 1.1.9.8)

  • Fixed sorting stashes no more working

v1.39.4 / v1.37.6.4 (GD 1.1.9.8)

  • Fixed crash when creating backup of config.xml when config.xml.backup already exists

I just recently came back to play GD and found this tool, I gotta say it’s more convenient and seamless to use this than other similar tools

It’s not much but thank you for creating this tool

Hello YveOne,

Sorry to bother you with my Problem. I installed the GOG Version of Grim Dawn 1.2.0.2 (x64) with Crucible, Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods, and GDMultiStash 1.39.4.0. I have no Gog Galaxy installed. At startup GDMS tells me to disable Cloud Sync in GD Options, but there is no cloud sync option. Starting the game vie GrimDawn.exe from GDMS results in a hanging GD Instance, I have to stop via task manager. Maybe you can give me a hint where to look at. Thank you very much.

Hi there. I’m currently busy with the next update. I gonna look at the GOG part after the update but unfortunately that will take a while

@nikolaus You can change that setting manually. Go to %userprofile%\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\Settings and in options.txt set cloudSaving = false.

Apparently, it defaults to true. I don’t see any ingame option for that setting either so it may not be used in GOG versions. No idea, never used cloud saves.

Whatever the setting, GDMS does not work for the gog version. With cloudSaving = false the game just crashes on launch when launched through GDMS.

Don’t know if this has anything to do with it (I have no clue about this kind of stuff) but when trying to launch GD with Grim Dawn\x64\Grim Dawn.exe it also crashes upon launch the same way. If I remember correctly, the GOG version needs to be launched with a shortcut set up like this
Target: Grim Dawn\x64\Grim Dawn.exe
Start in: Grim Dawn

v1.40 / v1.37.7 (GD 1.1.9.8)

  • Outsourced D3DHook.Overlay (my own module to draw responsive elements)
  • When GDMS crashes the exception will now be written to log.txt and displayed in console window
  • Fixed bug where game was starting inside x64 directory causing game to freeze/crash (wrong working directory)

v1.40

  • Fixed bug where wrong version gets downloaded when trying to use this version with GD 1.1.9.8

I downloaded my GOG version of GD and checked. My game was freezing when I tried to start the exe withing x64 directory. Changing working directory to base path solved it. GDMS is now always using the game path as working directory. For me it is working now when starting GD (GOG version without Galaxy) via GDMS.

But: You need to open configuration window in GDMS and set your game path manually and then “Grim Dawn.exe” as start up command

Please tell me if this update solved your problem

I am glad  Then I now can continue working on the real update I am working on

Edit: The new version of old GDMS (for GD 1.1.9.8) has not been downloaded yet. If no one is using the old version I might stop supporting GD 1.1.9.8 sooner as planned

Grim Dawn can now be started with GDMS. But there is no Stash Window showing, when I go to the transfer stash.

When you start GD via GDMS, open your taskmanager. Does its say “(x86)” after “Grim Dawn” ?
When you start GD does the GDMS logo appear in top left corner?

Edit: Can run GDMS via the Debug.exe, go to the NPC and open transfer stash and copy&paste the debug text here? You dont need to copy the very first lines. There is a line where it shows you user documents path. You dont need to copy that line or remove your user name.

Hello, i have same issue with GDMS not showing overlay ingame.

No, it’s show x64

Thanks for nice utilty and your work.

Wow, thank you for the information. I was still checking but couldnt find anything suspicious

Actually i was wrong and the real issue was MSI Afterburner utility i had launched with GDMS together. MSI Afterburner has overlay too, but GDMS overlay is not working even when MSI Afterburner overlay is turn off. Thanks for reply.

I am on Win11. I got the GDMS program running. When I go in game no window appears when I am at the smuggler and want to transfer. I created a stash prior to starting the game and it disappeared from the GDMS program window when the game started and never returns. I tried creating a stash while in game and still no window to make a transfer. GDSM exits when I exit the game. When I restart GDMS the stash I made is gone again.

I have the path set to the GD folder but it will not allow me to set it to the x64 folder. Chose Grim Dawn.exe for the Command line. As far as I know, it is the x64 version but no way to tell that I know. EDIT: Wrote in " x64 " on the Argument slot, still no window.

Any help would be appreciated!

So this tool is not compatible with,

• UI mods
• Stash mods
• Texture mods

Correct?
