Hey, when i try to select my Save directory, it says: “Error!! Wrong Directory.”
The directory I pick is: “C:\Users\LuLGG\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save”

You are using 32bit Java, make sure to use 64bit Java, that solves it
make sure you have a transfer.gst/.gsh file in it

NVM got it. Weird, because my Char is level 22 and i had to put an item in the “transfer” tab of my chest to have this file…

I am having issue setting up Save Game Directory. I saw previous replies saying I need to make sure I have make sure you have a transfer.gst/.gsh file in there but i cant seem to find that file. Actually I just found it but it is within steam game folder… @ C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\44906995\219990\remote
Do i need to use that directory or need to copy the file over to My Games/Grim Dawn

the dir you have the file in if for cloud save. I assume your chars are also in that dir (in the main subdir).
My Games\Grim Dawn\save is for local saves
I recommend using local saves with GD Stash, they certainly cause less issues, see the FAQ before deciding to stick to cloud saves
I’m having an issue with GD Stash not removing items from the shared stash after moving them into the DB. They show in the database, but are not removed ingame from my stash.
Am I overlooking something? I’m using the .bat file, my directories are correct, cloud saving is off…outside of that, I’m at a loss.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So when you store them in GD Stash, they are being removed from the shared stash (i.e. either you delete them or you have set the transfer mode to ‘move’ on the Config page) ?
And you do save the stash after the changes have been made ?
Then the item should also disappear from the stash in game, unless you had it open in-game at the same time.
If you do not delete the item from the stash or your transfer mode is ‘copy’, then that explains why the item does not disappear…
Hey mamba, I MOVE them from my shared stash to GD stash, Save the stash after the changes, I alt tab back into game and the items are still present in Shared Stash. I’ve made sure to close in-game window when moving the items.
I’ve tried to delete them via GD stash after moving them, save changes and they still remain in in-game stash.
Unless you are using cloud save, which you say you are not, I never had that happen…
I come to you humbled…After reading your reply, I went back and checked Steam to ensure I disabled Cloud saving, which were in fact disabled. I decided to check the in game options and was surprised to find a Cloud Save option. Which was indeed checked.
I turned of Cloud Saving properly, and now GD Stash works like a charm! Thank you mamba for your quick replay and helping with this mod.
I actually dont have the save folder under My Games/Grim Dawn/ Save i dont know why ( only folder existing under that folder is settings

sounds like you are using cloud save… I recommend disabling it as it makes the tool a lot more reliable (just see the exchange with War Waggon…).
If you want to use cloud save, make sure to not have the game running when making changes to the stash or chars. If you do not use cloud save you can change the stash even while playing the game as long as you do not have it open in-game and can change any char you are not currently playing. To me that is a lot more convenient, so I definitely would take that over cloud save.

I’m sorry if this is redundant, but I could not wade through the 260+ pages of this thread. I am also practically illiterate… I played Grim Dawn on both my laptop and my desk top using steam cloud of course. I finally decided to get the GD Stash . I put it on the desk and got it going. My question is: Is there a way to use it from one on both comps or do I have to now play it on one or the other if i wish to keep this, or do I have to keep to GD stashes, one for each. I know I’m making this more complicated than it has to be. But, I like the freedom of mobility sometimes . Is it possible to just have updated GD stash on a flash drive and just use it on both, including keeping my character updated ? Please excuse my ignorance and thank you in advance for your support.
You will nee to have it installed on both PCs and each one will have its own database.
So if you want to have access to your collection on both PCs, you will need to copy the most recent data from one to the other.
The data is in C:\Users<username>\GDStash\db (for vanilla GD). Provided you use the same GD Stash version on both you can just copy the directory.
If you want to transfer items only, you can use the Mass Import page to export them on one PC and import them on the other.
Apart from resulting in a smaller file (about 100MB of the DB is GD data, not item data) it might also be safer as you would never accidentally overwrite items you only collected on one PC with the DB copy of the other. The tool automatically recognizes duplicates and does not import them again (note, when you change the component in an item, that is not considered a duplicate of the item).
