Importing database freezes at importing images. Can anyone help me?
So I was using GDStash for sparing me the hassle of copying files around, but for some reason my (outdated) version 1.17b does not let me clear an entire page unequal page 1 in the character transfer tab. For example I am on page 3 of the character stash, hit “Clear entire page” and it looks like nothing has happened. But when I go back to page 1 I realize that this page has been deleted instead.
Okay, that is an outdated version. So I looked up this thread to download a more current one. On the moddb page I am greeted by a screen telling me that I only can download the mod if I join. I do not really want to join just for downloading one mod, nevertheless I try to. Unfortunately the “Register” or “Join now” screen is borked. It simply does not let me.
Okay, trying nexusmods I also get a nice screen about needing to join first when I am trying to download the mod. But now it gets worse - all the join options seem to require payment. For downloading one mod? Well.
It would be great if we could get that mod up at any free file hosting service.
Not sure how that step could freeze. Check if there is anything in the gdstash.log and run it from the command line if there is nothing, maybe that shows you a message that otherwise gets lost.
this is the first time I am hearing about either needing you to be registered. Your problem is the version though.
not right now I guess. I guess I will have to look into letting you use transfer.bst as well, so far I ignored it as I expected it to simply be a backup, much like the __ chars, but maybe all of that gets used when you disable the expansion (as opposed to never having had the expansion, which then uses the regular transfer.gst and _ chars I assume)
Now verified from a different network with a wide-open browser (no adblock, pretty much everything enabled) - still I need to join on both sites. Feel free to delete your cookies and try for yourself.
Yeah, there seems to be something wrong with moddb.com. Even going to the front page tells you it’s members only, and asks you to log in. It also gives an error about loading headlines.
Heck, even the page to register an account is saying it’s Members Only.
However, it is a bug or once you have extended
It seems that GDStash will not be reflected since the extension was uninstalled
I am not good at English, so I can not explain why I removed the extension this time
However, the problem has been solved, I will continue to use it carefully from now on
I cant seem to get this working, its pointed to my saves and game directory properly, and on the character tab it can read the character data but in terms of items it spits back all these massive errors on import (and opening the application) Tried troubleshooting but this is firs time I’ve used the program since the new expansion and it refuses to import properly. version is 1.19 b
Moddb works again! Yay!
ignore them, they seem to be due to you having an old DB version before the import, which is missing some fields that were added since. Importing the DB should have fixed that.
Close the tool, open it again, craft an item and save your stash, do any of these still show up ? If so, ignore them, import the GD data and check again.
Thanks a lot! Got it to work but lost my chars in the process trying to disable the cloud saves but well worth it
Thanks a lot for the help and the awesome tool
Hey, as of this morning I’m just getting a bunch of unicode symbols instead of English text when I start the program. Nothing changed in its start parameters. I re-downloaded it, installed latest Java, but the problem persists. Any ideas?
I’ve tried with 64-bit and 32-bit Java, still the same. My .bat line looks like this:
@ “C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_151\bin\java.exe” -Xms1152m -Xmx1152m -jar “C:\Users\MYNAME\Documents\my games\Grim Dawn\GDStash\GDStash.jar” > gdstart.log
Ran it from the command line and it worked fine. Thx.
Not really, never saw that before. What language is your Windows in ?
Pleae also check what language you have in C:\users<username>\GDStash\GDStash.ini
You should find something like
[ui]
language = English
in it
My Windows is primarily English (date and time show in Dutch). The settings are correct, ui language is English (see attachment). Thanks for your reply. I have no idea what changed. Everything was working fine Wednesday, didn’t play yesterday (maybe that’s the problem? Sorry RNGesus!), booted the Stash this morning and got this.
hm, will force the Java locale based on the ini setting in the next release, maybe that makes a difference
I doubt this is the cause, but check that in UI_English.properties, you find these two lines
LANGUAGE = En
COUNTRY = US
they are right at the beginning of the file
Unless the file somehow got corrupted, that should be the case though, and even then I am not sure it would result in this…
Yeah, these settings are correct as well (see attachment). Damnit. You are awesome for replying though, thanks.
I have also tried the executable - same problem, so it’s definitely something on my end. If anyone has any idea, I’ll be glad to hear it.
Hello mamba!
Something else, a request regarding the GUI.
See pic. 1 and 2 - is it possibility to chance the bags to single folders like the Character stash or the stash for all!?
