[Tool] GD Stash

no, this is not possible

I’d just like to make a backup of the stash, but I don’t see the option.

so of the data stored in the tool or of GD’s shared stash ?

You can either back up the whole DB (about 100MB) or export your items on the Im/Export page (around 1MB I guess). The difference is that the latter does not include the GD data like images etc.

I would use the Im/Export page for backups, alternatively the DB is in C:\users<username>\GDStash\db (or db_<modname>)

I believe I exported properly.

I did ā€œLoad items from dirā€ ā€œSelect allā€ then ā€œExport DB stashā€

It’s a .gds file only about 12KB. I just started playing so it would be small

should be fine, each item is about 1K, so you should have an idea whether that is the right size.

You can always load the .gds file on the Im/Export page again and see the items in it to verify (and store them again in the tool if they are not already in it)

I’m having issues with my transfer stash being reset after saving. Not using cloud save and never editing when the game is running.

After some testing I’ve concluded that the problem lies with GrimInternals and not GDstash, running GrimInternals straight after editing your stash in any way completely clears it.

Thank you for the prompt reply. It’s a pity, though. Is the tool’s code available? Perhaps I would try and write something that suits my needs and I could definitively use the API and classes that you already have written.

I did not really write an API, just ā€˜some’ classes. Apart from that the code is not available - and it wouldn’t be all that simple to add if it were

You could store the items in the tool and only transfer a copy to each char (instead of removing the item from the tool). Seems fair to me as only one char will use it at a time even if multiple chars have it.
Transferring the item between chars as you play them is just a nuisance from my perspective.

This functionality would imo only help you with recently found items you did not yet store in the tool.

Yeah, I’m trying to find the best way to do this too. I just want a search that highlights what I search for and dims the other stuff. Would be super helpful for finding certain resist components, set pieces, etc without having to hover over them in-game. Ideally, a search field should be in-game, but I don’t think Crate has plans to add that.

If such a feature is beyond the scope of GD Stash, does anyone know of such a tool that offers this kind of functionality or something very close to it?

The closest thing I know of is this search tool

Thanks, nice tool but not quite what I was hoping for. Hopefully, this is something we can see in the future from GD stash or some other tool.

Got another question for you, I opened up all rift gates on my character through GD Stash. I visited Homestead early. An unintended consequence is that I can no longer do the quest for the vendor that sells random potions. He is there, but does not sell the potions because the quest auto skipped by visiting Homestead early.

Is there any way to edit quest data so that he sells them again? I was considering copying over my quest data from an earlier difficulty once they were at the same spot, but I’m worried that might just create more unintentional problems.

GD Stash does not allow the editing of quest data. I don’t think there is any tool that does, mostly because the data is hard to understand for the user and you could screw up a lot.

Copying over the quest file from a different char or different difficulty should work however.

OK, thanks mamba.

I can’t seem to get the executable or the .jar to launch. I have the latest 64bit Java installed too. I double click and nothing happens. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling and all that but I’m not sure what to do. Any ideas?

Hello stupididiotboy und welcome!

Have you take a look into the documentation (folder doc from GD Stash)!?

Yes. I can’t see anything that really addresses my problem.

I get this bug when I installed. It can’t be reset or removed when clicking the X. Also I found some builds and wanted to search for their gear in GDS and it doesn’t find anything with ā€œall itemsā€ checked. Tried re-importing the database several times. No luck.

Just got these errors trying to import the database, again.

Game Version: 1.0.6.1 (+ expansion)
GD Stash: 1.2.8
OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit.

can you also just get a legeandry and put it in your stash and how ?

so you installed both the Java and the executable version and neither one starts ?

So what happens with the Java version, nothing at all is opened ? Sometimes the .jar extension is associated with a different program, but then something should still show up… try reinstalling Java to get the correct association.

As to the .exe, there is no reason why this should not start, it is a regular executable after all. Is your antivirus maybe interfering here ?

is this a char from a mod ? The tool does not recognize the second mastery… if it does not do that, then you also cannot reset it

Just got these errors trying to import the database, again.

I have never seen these, are you importing a mod ? If not, try to verify your GD files
