[Tool] GD Stash

Is there any way to transfer all the illusions from vanilla to mods? or enable them in mods with GD stash?

No, the tool does not allow you to copy the file to a mod.

What you can do is enable all items as illusions in the mod however. Select the mod on the Config page, import its data if you have not yet done so, go to the Im/Export page and press ‘Add all illusions’.

I am mainly trying to load my character and do some slight editing but it wont load the char. I am assuming it is the last few errors.

Any assistance?

It is definitely that error, your char save file for ‘Fox’ has a format the tool does not support. As it supports formats back to the beta, this char must be really old to not be supported.

The only thing you can do in this case is load the char into GD, that updates the char to the current save format, and that is supported by GD Stash.

If you try to edit a different char, you can ignore this.

Also, it looks like you need to import the GD data, that should resolve the warnings you are getting.

Oddly enough I made this character fairly recently. I play it daily. I would say it is less than 2 months old.

How do I import grim dawn data? I imported the database from config tab. Should I do something else?

are you on the latest version (1.2.8 or 1.2.9) ? If not, then upgrade, if yes, then please post your player.gdc

Are you maybe using cloud save while that char is in the local save dir or vice versa ? Can’t really think of any other reason why a relatively recent char would not be recognized (other then file corruption)

no, that should be it, not sure why it would not recognize some items then, are you playing a mod ?

Also, when I import DB I get these errors

looks like upgrading to new version fixed it. I was editing other chars fine so i figured that wasnt the issue.

Thanks for the help.

the import was fine, afterwards the tool reads all shared stashes and all char headers, so it can show them in a drop-down list. That is where the read error of the char comes from.

Currently have 1.2.4b version of GD Stash. When I created a new character, I am now getting a message saying it cannot load the character (happens on all characters) and to check for a newer version.

I have downloaded 1.2.9, but I want to ask a couple questions first:

  • Do I simply copy/overwrite the new files into the old GD Stash location?
  • How do I make sure I don’t overwrite the old database?

Thanks for your help and for this excellent aid!

Yes, you overwrite the files and then you import the database again.

Ouch, I don’t know that I still have all the items that were in the previous database, will I lose ones that are no longer held by characters? After starting to use GD Stash, I deleted off a number of mules.

Anything you added to your collection in the stash will still be there.

Your items are safe, they are the one thing that is not cleared and built anew when you import the GD data.

If you are concerned, you can always export them into a file on the Im/Export page. This way you have them as a file that you can re-import into GD Stash in case it would wipe out your items somehow (which it does not do) or in case its DB becomes corrupted

I’ve installed Java, but i couldn’t run GDStash.jar file. Nothing happended.

Hey Mamba, there’s been some issues with GDstash since the new game version has been released (1.0.7.0). v1.2.9 doesn’t seem to work either

Here’s what appears when I launch it (pic 1) / import database (pic 2)

While I’m at it, the stash has been a huge help for me, been relying on it a lot these past few months. Thank’s for keeping it updated man

You ran out of heap space during the import, as the import first clears the tables, you now find no items in them.

Increase the heap space by starting the tool via the .bat file and then import the GD data. Make sure the path to java.exe in the .bat matches the path Java is installed on your system (you can edit the .bat with any text editor).

Also, you are still using 1.2.8, you should upgrade to 1.2.9 (you wrote 1.2.9, not sure if that is a typo, but the screenshots show 1.2.8)

Thanks for the quick reply really appreciate it, was indeed a java path problem ^^

Cheers man !

I downloaded the latest gd stash and was trying to import the database and i got these messages. (I have used gd stash previously and that worked flawlessly.)

The game is on 1.0.7.1 if i am not wrong.
