So after testing with that much memory I still receive msg
You want to edit both the Xms
and Xmx
, just to clarify. They should be identical. It also shouldnât need to be that big in all honesty, 4GB is generally sufficient. Also, make sure youâre actually running the program with the .bat file, not the .exe, in this case.
Can you doublecheck that you have 64-bit java installed? Silly I know, but we want to cover every angle.

The next time you run, I recommend monitoring it with the Task Manager or whatever you might prefer to use. Keep an eye on the Memory and Disk usage columns. If Memory stays in the 1,700-ish range, itâs still not allocating memory properly.
Launching with the .exe:
Launching with the modified .bat:
Now I have downloaded Mod DB, however, I still canât use GD stashâŚall tabs are grey except the Configuration tab
It is 64 bit Java
I did configure Xms but through configure Java
However, I donât know where to configure Xms ?
Btw if it would save you time maybe I could stream whole process so you could guide / correct me pls ?
the .exe does not manage heap space at all, it is not really different from the .bat file in functionality. I will increase the heap space the .exe uses, there is not really much reason to keep it low these days
only if you want a language other than English
you are good to go, not sure what causes that last message
Ah ha! That makes sense then. The phrasing of the FAQ entry had me thinking it was something more complex.
Yeah, increasing to 4GB should be more than enough. It still only uses what it needs, so it shouldnât cause issues for older systems, and Iâd be absolutely shocked if a mod database managed to break that barrier.
Unfortunately, after I successfully imported mod DB, GD stash doesnât allow me to click any other tab, apart from the configuration tab.
GD stash works perfectly with Vanilla Grim Dawn
Update,
After downloading Mod DB it is required to save settings, and only after that process is done, and all is working as it should be.
Confusing part at least for me was that I was not compelled to save the visually and practically not working state.
Anyway, thanks for the help Felis_Noctu and Mamba
Version 1.8.1b released
GD Stash now identifies the correct .arz file in case a mod contains more than one (Reign of Terror currently has two, which caused the actual mod data to not be read)
strong text
I been getting this error popping up whenever ive tried to set up my GD stash. Ive got no idea what causes it. Also when I try and restart the Stash im stuck on a loading screen
hello! updated gdstash to the latest version (and the game too obviously) and now I have this error:
characters not uploading, canât also transfer items between 'em or tweak.
Assuming you are on the latest version of GD Stash, that would mean that GD has changed the save format again.
Will have to check if that is the case
most likely thatâs the case since I canât load characters into GT either.
@mamba hey mate!
any news or success with updating gdstash? (sorry for bothering)
Version 1.8.1c released
Adds support for the GD 1.2.1.6 character save file format
Just to check, I assume this has to do with the beta/FoA?
