With the known issues the Win32 executable has, it would be wise to edit the first post of this thread, ASAP, removing any links and references to the Win32 executable. When you release the next GDS you’ll have to update the thread’s first post with the new version info. and links. This removes the chance that anyone else will attempt to use the 0.99c Win32 executable and run into trouble.
If I wanted to do that, I would have done it already.
Given that as far as I am concerned this is a very minor issue that is easily resolved, I see no need for this. Those paranoid enough to make a fuss over it can feel free to just not use that version until a new one is released - so far that seems to be you only.
There have been several hundred downloads and you are the first to bring it up (thanks for that by the way), make of it what you will, but at the very least it shows that it is not a big issue.
Stupid question: Since the VM bit was mentioned, do I need anything externally to properly run the Stash tool? I have Java installed already (like most people would, I imagine) but beyond that.
No, if you have Java installed, you are good to go. It will need to be the 64bit version though.
Version 0.9.d released
- Char Editor: faction reputation added
- Modded chars and stashed are being read Only edit them if you know the mods are compatible with the vanilla game as the mods cannot yet be loaded
- New config setting, copy/move items from the DB to the stash / char
- The tool’s data is now stored in the user directory, not the program directory, to avoid conflicts with Window’s restrictions
- The tool’s configuration is now saved in an ini file (before it was in the tool’s database), part of ongoing work for mod-support
- Char Editor: the +/- increments are now read from database.arz, part of ongoing work for mod-support
Hey Mamba,
Does this mean that the Character Editor page of GD Stash now correctly displays the EXP, Gold, PHY/CUN/SPI invested, Rift Gates, etc for characters that are created in a Custom Game?
I am using Grim Dawg’s Good Looking Mod only and in order to get GD stash to communicate with his mod I had to change the GD directory to /save/good-looking mod. Do I now change the directory location back to just /save?
I think Good Looking Mod is compatible with the Vanilla game…?
Excellent work as usual, bud!
Cheers!

XP etc, yes, the main issue here was that I simply did not parse the user dir for characters so you did not see them.
Rift Gates, Shrines, Factions will very much depend on the mod. If it has its own map, no, the tool always shows the vanilla rifts etc. If the mod is compatible with vanilla (e.g. a new class but no custom map), yes.
Factions will be taken from database.arz in a future release, Rift Gates and Shrines cannot, as part of their info is not in it and I cannot connect the savegame data with the database.arz data without that missing piece.

yes

Don’t really know that mod in detail, it does introduce custom items for the ‘skins’ I believe. As these are not in the vanilla game, these items would not be known to the tool and probably get lost when you load / save the stash or char.
The applied item is fine as the mod is using an existing feature of GD for the transmog which I support, but having the custom item in your stash / inventory will only be supported once I can load the custom arz file.
Hell yeah!
Btw, GDstash saves illusions from Good-looking mod perfectly. I can even take an item from my collection, give it a new illusion(transmog/skin/mesh/whatever) and GDstash will recognize it as a new item when I add it to my collection. But in the item description you can’t see what illusion an item has.
I don’t really know why this is. If you wish to find out maybe you can take a look at the swashbuckler’s coat transmog, which is in the vanilla game.
Thank you very much, Mamba. v09.9.d is working like a dream. LOVING having my Character Editor tab back displaying all my info again!
Have I told you lately how awesome you are? Probably…
Cheers!
Syn
there is a simple reason for it, I recognize the tag and save it (after all, it is part of the item data), but I do nothing else with it
As GD only uses it for the two bonus items (when it could easily be expanded to full blown transmogrification, much like you did already), I did not really use it anywhere.
Sssssht!
Hello mamba,
^^ Were are these locations exactly?!
I can’t find it!?
You should find them in C:\Users<username>\GDStash
Oh … Ok … Since I had probably tomatoes on the eyes …
I’ve encountered a problem with the latest version. Lets say that I’m in the stash transfer tab, I have opened a mod stash and the corresponding mod is not selected. If I now select that same mod, gdstash considers the opened stash to be edited because I can now save. If I do this and start the game, this stash will have turned into a default stash (empty, no upgrades).
I noticed that when you select a stash, the selected mod changes as well. And if you select a mod, you get a message saying the stash is now added to the list, or that it is already added to the list. But when a stash doesn’t load its own mod you can select that mod and no message appears. And that is when the above happens.
Luckily all the items that disappeared this way were in the database.
Btw, there were no modded items involved. And I had edited those stashes before and seen them saved correctly in the game. The mods I tested this with were goodlooking mod and grimmest. And in the folder GD/save/modname I now have extra files named “transfer.t00”, “transfer.t01” t02 etc. I can’t import them in any way, any idea what to do?
if the mod is not selected, that should mean it is a regular stash you copied to the folder for the mod, not a stash of that mod. Location does not make the stash a mor stash, it stores the mod internally (and if done correctly ie in the game rather than by copying files, location and internally stored mod will match).
I hope you understand the difference
If I now select that same mod, gdstash considers the opened stash to be edited because I can now save.
yes, because you changed the mod the stash belongs to from none/vanilla to a mod.
If I do this and start the game, this stash will have turned into a default stash (empty, no upgrades).
when you start the game with the mod or the vanilla game ?
In theory both should be ok, the stash in the mod dir is now for the mod and contains the same items as before, the vanilla stash was not involved at all, so should be unchanged.
I noticed that when you select a stash, the selected mod changes as well.
see above, the mod is stored in the stash, that is why it changes when you switch to a different stash
And if you select a mod, you get a message saying the stash is now added to the list, or that it is already added to the list.
if you select a stash and change its mod to a mod for which you already have a stash, that message appears and the mod does not get changed.
But when a stash doesn’t load its own mod you can select that mod and no message appears.
ie when it is a vanilla stash and you change the mod to one for which you have no stash yet, at least if everything works as it should
In that case the stash is stored in the dir of the mod you specified, as a stash of that mod. Nothing should disappear here.
And in the folder GD/save/modname I now have extra files named “transfer.t00”, “transfer.t01” t02 etc. I can’t import them in any way, any idea what to do?
they are backups of your stash. If you lost items, delete the get stash and rename them back to gst, t00 should be the newest, t01 thr next older and so forth
there was a problem, it is now fixed (download latest version).
Retrieve the previous stash (.t00 for SC or .h00 for HC), name it back to .gst/.gsh and set the mod in it again. Then it should work properly.
Thanks
^^ Is there a problem, if I use this location also for the whole tool!?
So it would be easier to manage and backup …
Thx for the quick fix, mamba. Got my items back too.
