[Tool] GD Stash

What exactly do you try to reset, your Attributes (Cunning, Physique, Spirit) ?

The ones you see in the middle are not the ones from the start for each class. Each char starts with 50/50/50. You gain 8 for each attribute point spent.

What you are not seeing (because it is not stored like that in the savefile) is the additional points you get from the mastery investment and gear. So what you see in the middle is lower than what you see in game, but it is your actual attribute investment rather than any bonus points from other stuff.

If I had nothing invested all three attributes would have a value of 50.

As Physique and Cunning are 210 each, I raised each by 160 points, which is 20 attribute points each.

The easiest way to reset them back to what they were at level 0 is pressing the ā€˜-’ buttons until you no longer can, at which point they should be at 50. If you use the button, the Attribute Points (top right) increase accordingly, and the dependent stats (Health for Physique and Energy for Spirit) are properly adjusted as well.
If you later distribute them again with the ā€˜+’ buttons, the other fields also get automatically adjusted.

Alternatively, you could enter a number and ignore the buttons, in this case it is up to you to figure out what each value should be however. Changing e.g. Physique will not adjust either Health or the Attribute Points you have available.

Many thanks for your help ! I figure that the blue attributes are the one add with points and not stuff

well if three is no way to fix the error i would reccomend warning people using dail mod to be careful using GDStash with it… or to warn people using any mods to be careful just in case… to avoid any issues.

so far the problem is more replicating it than fixing it

When I add an item to a DAIL stash and then save the stash, it works, no error messages.

Is anyone else using DAIL and having this issue ?

Do you have that problem with DAIL only ? Does it work for the vanilla stash ? Did you try any other mods ? Can you transfer it to the char (while the char is not in game) ?

damn… well than i guess im just a lone wolf screwed out of your awesomeness!

atleast no one else is having the issue than so dont worry about fixing it.

it doesnt even let me open my main campaign non modded save for some reason ( maybe cuz i have no characters in main campaign with a stash yet… all my vanilla characters i deleted a long time ago.)

but im sure all my paths are correct… however i have no idea where the GDSTASH stash file is supposed to be stored because i had no luck finding it trying to look for it in all possible directores …\

EDIT:

okay it constantly says wrong directory for all vanilla saves… so something is messed up…

and i tried creating a character in vanilla map and the class selection screen shows 3 vanilla classes and 3 custom modded classes ( and this is in vanilla mode iwht no mods)

so obviously something has messed up on my end… but i have a feeling even a fresh install wont help… i freshly installed at DAIL 0026 so i dont see how anything could have corrupted in the last 2 weeks in the install and it didnt help so i think im just gonna give up .

I am going to try a fresh install anyways to see…

ill let you know if it works.

clearly just must have missed one

There is no GD Stash stash (transfer.gst), there is a database. That is in your user dir, which usually would be C:\Users<username>\GDStash

what are you specifying as the dir ?

The GD save dir should be

C:\Users<username>\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save

No need to specify one for each char or whatever you are doing that results in the tool saying it is the wrong dir.

The tool determines whether it is the wrong dir based on the presence of a transfer.gst / .gsh file, so if you deleted that, copy one there (or create a new one in game by going to the guy with the stash)

and i tried creating a character in vanilla map and the class selection screen shows 3 vanilla classes and 3 custom modded classes ( and this is in vanilla mode iwht no mods)

that definitely sounds like something got messed up, should be unrelated to the ā€˜wrong dir’ issue though as I only check for the presence of files to determine the correct dir

i reinstalled java… ( i had both 64 bit and 32 bit… howeer now the program will not even open if i have only 64 bit… it just says exception has occured) …

i can try getting 32 bit again but i thought this uses only 64 bit or do you require both … i had both before.

yeah i tried force asosciating .jars with 64 bit java and it doesnt work for some reason… no idea whats going on there…

You definitely only need the 64bit JVM.

Which database.arz are you using ? The DAIL one ? I just remembered that this had a typo in one of its formulas which really should have prevented you from importing it in the first place.

If you somehow managed to import it however, I could understand the error message, as I get it in my current version when I try to use the released version on its DB… but you should never even have gotten into that state because the import should have failed…

EDIT: check if this version overcomes your exception problem. It should make it past the DAIL formula problem, if that actually is the issue you are having

This picture brought to you by slipperypete

call me stupid but I can’t figure out how to use this tool, unlike TQvault which is super easy to understand

Just one question, i try to reset my skills and my stats goes to58 and not 50, is there any explanations ?

just did a fresh install of windows.

both issues still there… even with your GDS experimental edition

and i still have to pinpoint exactly where the save is … not just the general save folder…

so unfortunately i am at the point where I must give up… if a fresh install didnt fix it… nothing will . sorry i couldnt figure out waht was causing it to help you find a solution though.

and the database import still fails.

and the java exception error went away for load or two but has returned … i was loading the program with java 64 bit just fine 1ce or twice and it just went back… so something there is going screwy.

I don’t think this is any harder really, just slightly different and you are not used to it. The main difference is that you do not store items by dropping them on an empty slot on a stash page but by pressing a button. Same for retrieving, instead of seeing all items and having to find the right one, you select items by criteria and then select from the ones matching them.

Read the documentation, it should be pretty clear what to do

a bug ?

ok, as I said, you should not have been able to load the DAIL database, only if somehow you had managed to do so would that have helped.

and i still have to pinpoint exactly where the save is … not just the general save folder…

that is patently untrue and probably part of your issue… as I said, it should be the save folder. The only reason it would not be recognized is if there is no transfer.gst / gsh in it. In that case, add one, do not choose a different folder.

and the database import still fails.

vanilla or dail ? 99g version or the experimental ? what errors are you getting ?

Hey Mamba.

Earlier this afternoon, I had the brilliant idea to delete the contents from the following folder location.

C: > Users > Daniel > Documents > My Games > Grim Dawn > save > main

I deleted the contents because it had, what I thought was, my character from the unmodded Grim Dawn save files. A character I no longer cared about as the character I regarded as my main had it’s information stored in the > User folder.

Under the > User folder, I believed was the character files for my main character that is being played in the Good Looking Mod Custom game - the only save file that I cared about.

My problem is, I believe since I deleted the contents under the > Main folder, each time I click the Reload button on the Char Editor tab of GD Stash, all the fields are cleared and even manually un-selecting and re-selecting my character, Rick Grimes [user, SC, 39] from the drop-down list does not populate these fields again…

If I close and reopen GD Stash and select Rick Grimes [user, SC, 39] from the drop down menu, the Char Editor page correctly displays my current characters information but, again, clicking the Reload button clears this information, unable to be repopulated without closing and reopening GD Stash and repeating the process.

I am certain you will have a much better idea as to why this is happening than me. It only started doing it after I deleted the contents from the > Main folder so I suspect there must have been information contained in that folder that was required for GD Stash?

I would love to get my Char Editor tab working properly again so I can click the Reload button and the character information updates instead of being cleared…

I seriously hope you can help me, Mamba. I pray your infinite wisdom extends to finding a solution for this issue of mine.

I apologise for my stupidity…

Thank you!

Syn

that is odd, there certainly is no good reason for it. There definitely is nothing in main that would be relevant.

The tool just searches for subdirs in main and user and displays the chars it finds in those, if none exist, that just should mean there is nothing to display.

That was a bug, fixed in latest version

Also fixes the DAIL formula problem, and transparency for the items

Fantastic news, Mamba! I will download the latest version tonight.

Thank you for your hard work, mate!
