transfer.gst / gsh is always the smuggler
I got a PM from a forum member, saying that many of the people he knows would love the stash, but will not download it (once available) because the crafting tab is too tempting and wondered if I would be willing to release a version without it.
So far I assumed that everyone is capable of deciding for himself whether to use the feature and ignore it if he decides that it would ruin the fun of farming. That someone rather not use the stash than be tempted by the crafting screen in it came as a surprise.
Is that a more frequent concern (note: that you would use it to craft items despite not wanting to, not that others use it to craft items, even though you would not want them to) ?
Is the crafting screen so tempting that you rather not download the tool and use it as a stash only because you fear you would craft despite not wanting to ?
Oh noes! Seems like someone doesnât know how to request that some features be optional and goes the âpeople wont download itâ route.
Seriously, unless you are trying to make a living out of this, or getting downloads is important to you; then âtoo badâ?
Also, seems like when they want some feature, itâll be the âI know âpeopleâ who wont download unless it has <feature A>.â - and who wants that?
No, because I know what will ruin a game for me and donât do it. Stash size is a good example. I used to swap out stash files and I found it to be too tedious to do it. The same with spending the time to organize them into something useful. Iâve stopped doing it.
Now I play with just the stash size available (actually only 3 tabs) and purge items as I run out of space. Iâll encounter the item again, and I can play the game and not mess with files or search for items.
Ya unless you are just a super nice guy I see no reason to go out of your way to maintain two separate versions. At most, if you can be bothered, would be to just add a setting toggle that hides the crafting tab.
Your call, bub, but donât waste time on two versions. No point there.
well, there is no need to request for the feature to be optional, because it already is optional, either you use the screen or you donât

the tool will be free, there is no monetary incentive in it at all (no money from ads, etc), at the same time, I obviously would rather have more than fewer downloads however
internally I have that toggle, there is a global flag that stops the crafting tab from being added (and another to disable the save buttons). Both are there in case I want to have a beta version out and restrict its functionality, so having a version without the crafting screen is only a recompile away, I certainly would not maintain two code bases for this.
Nor sure having a config flag to hide that screen would do any good, if you cannot trust yourself to not use the screen, you cannot trust yourself to not unhide it either
Was just curious how widespread this is
Fine by me, I can trust myself lol
Iâd just use the stash mainly anyway⌠And for testing purposes it will be nice to have the crafting there if I need/want it. No skin off my teeth.
mamba, i honestly donât think it would make a difference. everyone is capable of deciding on their own. if they wanted to cheat or have a backdoor, they would have done using some trainers to craft all the items from the available blue prints.
look at it from a different perspective. i say release your work as full to let as much people who use it give you feedback. no need to restrict.
side note: mamba, i would gladly donate to support your work like SoulSekkor as a little token of appreciation.
I would suggest releasing the program in the state that you feel comfortable it being in, Mamba. I personally will not use the Crafting Tab for cheating purposes.
Once you take away the excitement and desire for the obtaining and upgrading of loot through natural progression and farming means, I believe you take away one of the core attractions of ARPGâs.
This program sounds incredible. I can not wait to have this resource in my hands! Keep up the exceptional work, bud!

I will definitely release the full version with crafting, this was only to see if there is a group of people who want a stash-only version because for whatever reason they cannot resist the allure of the crafting screen against their better judgement, and to avoid temptation do not use the tool at all rather than possibly succumbing to the crafting side

Thanks, but to me donations are a two-edged sword. I would feel a lot more obligated if someone actually gave me money for it.
As it stands, I mostly implement what I want / feel like, while listening to feedback. If I had received money, I would feel a lot more obligated to add whatever requests come up and it would turn into a (badly paid) job
Iâm truly sorry if this a stupid question but where do I download this from?
Sorry again if this is a stupid question.
It is not yet available. As the stash format was changed, it does not currently function as an infinite stash as intended, and I do not really want to release it just for the crafting part.
Oh ok and thanks for your quick reply mamba!
I think itâs fine as it is now, with the crafting tab. Itâs not something I will be using myself, but it sounds silly to me not to download your program because of the crafting feature.
One more thing down, selection by damage types. I limited it to what I find the most relevant types
has the following result
The logic searches for both flat and percentage damage
So far this is for the crafting screen only, for the transfer screen it will be somewhat more involved, as I do not have to consider the stats of the item only but also those of the affixes
I realized the way they turned out, the different selections could easily be combined into one powerful one with all the features combined.

Does anyone feel this screen too intimidating / confusing and there is a reason to keep the other ones around ?
Thanks a lot for what youâre doing. For me an inifinite stash is a must in hack&slash type of games.
I loved collecting things in Titan Quest using TQVault, although not being able to see the exact stats was irritating.
I stopped playing Diablo III on a console because of a ridiculously small stash size.
Wish you good luck and bug-free code!
Thanks, the issues with not having the exact stats carried over to GD though. The item does not store the exact stats, just the seed for the RNG. I hope we will get to know what is needed to get the exact stats from that (I assume all it takes is which RNG algorithm they use and in which sequence the bonus values get calculated), without that, we simply cannot show the in-game values.
Looks fine to me UI wise.
It looks terrific. Damn, I love it, when dedicated professionals are at work!
kind regards

Thank you, mamba, for taking flat damages and % damage modifiers as a search option into account. I personally would like if there were separated check boxes for flat and % damage modifiers. I used another tool called stashninja for TL II .There i loved to search for equipment by % damage modifiers. Just because these are two different things i wouldnât like to mix up in my search. But if you are not up to this, i can live with this of course. I appreciate your great efforts.
