[Tool] Grim Dawn Item Assistant

Hello sorry if this has been asked. I use Grim Internals. When I have the game open and open Item Assistant I can see all my items fine. However when I open/close my stash in game the Item Assistant stop showing any items for me. There is no other mod to select other than Vanilla(I don’t play modded). I have all the expansions for the game. If I restart Item Assistant I can see my items again.

After opening Item Assistant. Notice that it says Stash:Unknown on the bottom right.

After opening stash ingame. Stash in no longer unknown but I can’t see my items anymore. So I can’t transfer to ingame stash.

I also do not see any errors in the log section.
Note: Cloud Saving is off both on steam and ingame. Also tried running as administrator. Nothing changed.

Edit: I tried by launching the regular game instead of Grim Internals but the same thing happens. When I open my stash for the first time and close it, I can no longer view my items on the Item Assistant. On Item Assistant there is a brief loading icon that appears and disappears after opening my stash.

Fixed by installing latest beta version of Item Assistant.

Are you using the 32bit bit version of GD or 64bit?

There does seem to be some issues with IA and GI, however, the author of GI couldn’t find anything wrong.

if you are using the 32bit bit version of GD, does unchecking “secure transfer” in GDIA settings help?

if you are running the 64bit version of GD and GI, then unselecting the above option will make it work, but there are some niggles.

Also have you tried without GI? to see if the same thing happens? if GI is the cause, then posting this in GI thread might be better. but if the author of GI can find the issue or not, that is another matter.

Edit

are you using the latest beta?

http://grimdawn.dreamcrash.org/ia/GDItemAssistantBeta.exe

just install over the original install, if you are running the latest beta, there are a couple of links posted by slipperypete, a few posts up, see if they work for you.

Downloading and installing the latest beta from the link you provided seems to have fixed it. I tried both in normal Grim Dawn and Grim Internals (x32). Thanks a lot!

glad it worked.

Thanks for linking those (my help tab in IA is bugged, fails to load a script or something so I can’t see these in my IA). That’s good to know that IA already looted the ‘duplicate’ so I guess it’s safe to trash the item in GD since it’s already stored.

I’m still getting some unknown items even after parsing the database a couple times. It did work for some of them, but I still have a handful of unknowns left.

Thank you so much for this, it works perfectly!

Hello, got a question if I may…

Up until now I have used stash file backups to store all my items. I found it a lot better than mules… I just kept stash files in folders labelled ‘Components’, ‘Rares 1- 30’, etc. But clearly the utility of Item Assistant to simply drop items in tab 5 and have it auto loot and update a database is some next level shit which I am amazed at… so thanks for this.

My question is : say I install the Item Assistant, and want to start storing all the items I’ve collected in my many various stash files - what happens if I load a stash file with tab 5 already filled with items? Will the IA auto-swallow all items instantly?

I swap and change my stash files while in game but making sure stash is not open - I am assuming IA initializes each time stash is opened?

The last tab is used to transfer the items to IA, once copied, the items get deleted. (so technically as long as IA is running, then the last tab will be empty once you walk away from the stash.

And the second to last tab is used for transfering items from IA back to the stash, so you can place them else where.

So if your last tab is full, open it with your char, then walk away a short distance and come back, the tab will be empty, and you will find the items in IA.

if you are running the BETA do you still need to uncheck the "Secure Transfers box?

I am running the BETA, x64 GD and get a Stash Error message in IA.

The issue with IA is, it has no native 64bit support, so secure transfer doesn’t work, I noticed the stash error message in the last update, but unchecking secure transfer does work. and make sure you aren’t near the stash (or have ot open) when transferring items back to the shared stash.

So yes, secure transfer needs to be off, (for the 64bit version)

But I can confirm that the program still works fine, transferring stuff.

But not sure what is up with the error message, but like I said, the program has no native 64bit support, as the code and inject system is still 32bit code.

Ok, thanks. I’ll uncheck the box for now with the x64 version of GD.

Hopefully there will be an x64 fix for IA at some point in the future.

Is there any kind of grouping / sorting / labelling available within the Item Assistant? For example, I have my many different folders of stash files within organised and labelled folders (as described a few posts up)… Now I decide to use IA and start transferring all my stash files one by one into the main save folder, throwing everything into tab 5 each time - so I effectively transfer all my stash files over into the IA database.

But what if later I want to start a new char and access all my twink items - maybe I forget a component or a certain item if I am just pulling from IA - is there a way to group or label items that are currently in the database? Like searching for items I have uploaded, and applying a label ‘twink’ to it so I can search later for ‘twink’ items?

I realise I can search for ‘mandate’ or ‘lokarr’ or whatever but I am only asking the above because I may forget to extract a certain piece of my regular twinking set of items if using IA… there is a lot… components, iron bars, near perfect overpowered lvl 1 yellow items I have accumulated over time - etc

Currently I would just load up my twink stash and its all there, if you know what I am trying to say…

You can only filter by item types, rarity, and by level.

If I understand what you want, you want a way to mark items like, if you were using say, two different rings, and want to find them again for another char?

You can’t do that. (if I understand the question?) as the filters are basic.

Just started using this tool and really love it. One thing I would love to see in the search drop-down is an option for All Armor - this way I could just search armor for needed attributes without seeing weapons, offhands etc - is something like this possible?

You do have filters for chest, legs and gauntlets etc, and level.

All armour would be too broad and would show too many results to be useful.

Done.
It has been included in the latest beta.

So far there has not been a high demand for this.

Added a cleanup button to database/mods which should do roughly the same.
It will completely delete the tables for cached GD data and recreate them. Should be near the same as creating a new userdata.db file. However it keeps the player items, to skip the export/import steps.

I’m loving IA…thinking back to all the items I’ve thrown out prior to having it. Anyway for some reason it will not pull items from my stash. I get error message, “Could not inject dll into process 11140” My apologies in advance if this has already been answered but I couldn’t turn anything up in my search for answers.

Run GD as 32 bit for now.
