Very occasionally GDIA crashes when transferring items to the stash. It gives me the āThis program is not respondingā message from windows and closes GDIA. The item will then be duplicated as it will be in the transfer tab and still remain in my item collection. Itās not a big issue since I can just dump the dupe on the ground but I thought I should report it.
Does IA log anything before it crashes?
If you check the log from the previous run, hopefully it gives some clues as to what happened.
Not sure if it logs anything when it crashes. Hadnāt had a crash since I posted and my last log file is from 1st of May. Iāll try to get it to crash and see if it logs anything.
I am trying to run the grim dawn 64-bit version together with GDia with the secure transfers unchecked. I can transfer back and forth, but i am getting stash:ERROR and a continuous message like this in the log:
[03.05 23.19.32] WARN GD is running as 64bit, IAGD does not support this as of yet.
[03.05 23.19.32] WARN Could not inject dll into process 9696, if this is a recurring issue, try running as administrator.
Any solution?
Hi,
when I put items in the stash tab 4, they are not removed and are only saved when I manually import the stash.gst file (but then my whole shared stash is emptied out). What am I doing wrong? I could load items to tab 5 and loot them within the game.
edit:
ok nevermind, seems to work if I walk away far enough from the stash!
The error message āIAGD does not support this as of yetā no longer exists in IA, so you must be on an older version, prior to 64 bit support.
Just update
I really thought i did update, but apparently not.
Working now. Thanks!
i spent the whole night trying to get that mod to work, but right now im about to give up.
back in the days, it worked completely fine for me. now i tried to run it again, but for some reason it does only loot my items, but doenst show them (infact doesnt show anything in IA).
mods are vanilla, didnt change anything (any, any, vanilla, 0-110)
tried running game and IA as user and as admin, didnt work.
uninstalled game and IA, reinstalled both.
same issue. looting stuff, doesnt show anything.
any ideas besides what i did try already?
cant play GD without a stashmod and i really dont wanna use GDstash, since installing it already feels like abusing/cheating to me (irrational, i know).
and thanks for the mod, its great. if it wouldnt collect user data, it would by far be my favorite besides Ginternals.
slipperypete, might be worth editing your opening post to add the IA discord link to it. Itās pretty hard to search over 200 pages to find it.
Fixed!
And a bunch of characters to get past the post-size-minimum-limit-lalalalalalala
I am quite sure I found a rather nasty duplication bug after updating last night.
Fresh hardcore attempt, first char ever, level 84 going to update my gear. Transferring my vitality damage legendaries found, which are not that many since this is my first ever hardcore char who only killed Warden on ultimate.
On transferring, the UI of IA did not remove the item. I could transfer them again before they finally disappeared.
The counts for my item were probably 2-1-1-1, and after transferring as many as I could, I had 4-3-3-1.
With about 40 legendaries in total including recipes, I would be surprised if I had had 4 Mythical Fiendscale jackets drop in the few levels since they became able to.
Apps and features dialog says the version is 1.2.7060.19613.
The log does not appear too interesting, but here goes
https://pastebin.com/Jvj8H8p9
Oh, and to my surprise the stats of the items are not identical.
Oh, and further info about duplication. I had 1 Spirit Weaver circlet in IA.
I transferred one, and it was not removed.
I restarted IA, found it again. Pressed the transfer button until it disappeared, and now i have 5 copies in stash/inventory.
I think I know what heppens, although I have not done specific test to verify it.
I have both normal and hardcore items in the same IA. I can switch between then.
When I retrieve items, the split between HC/normal is not respected, and I keep getting normal items in the HC version. At least I have no Mythical Fiendscale Jackets in Normal now, which I find somewhat unlikely.
Iāve posted this elsewhere, but it may be a GDIA issue, so Iām posting here as well. Please note: GDIA isnāt successfully transferring items AND my game progress doesnāt seem to be getting saved (Crucible run/loot not recorded).
ā¦
So, Iāll try to make sense, but things arenāt making sense to me. Hereās my last few days.
GDIA had an update recently that sent Bitdefender into overdrive. So I messed around with exceptions and seemed to have it back up a couple days ago. Well, the problems kept occurring so I went to Google. I saw other people having similar problems recently and they said the beta version fixed things.
Well⦠Since last night I have reinstalled Steam, GD/DLCs, and GDIA. I have gone through the setup and cloud saving is off. But something REALLY strange is happening.
I just ran the crucible (got M Beronathās blueprint!), went to deposit my loot in tab 6 of my shared stash. Walked away and came back to checkā¦it was gone. So far, so good. But, it was NOT in GDIA. Restarted GDIA, no luck.
I logged back into GD and onto the same character. She has the exact inventory setup as before she ran the Crucible. All the items I had earned and the DAMN blueprint were gone like I hadnāt run anything. And anything I try to transfer to GDIA is still not working.
Things have been working fine for monthsā¦now I canāt do anything because my āprogressā just isnāt being recorded.
PLEASEā¦please let there be someone out there who knows where Iāve gone astray (and donāt say using GDIA :P). The game is unplayable at the moment and I am out of ideas aside from another round of fresh uninstall/install, but Iāve done that.
Thanks!
Okay, if this is an issue affecting both IA transferring items and game progress, both of those operations involves editing/moving files in the āMy documents\my games\grim dawn\saveā folder.
This indicates that the cause is an external factor, outside of Steam, GD and IA. So reinstalling those at this point probably wont helpā¦
Harddrive error (bad sectors)?, Some external program?
I donāt know the cause.
If IAGD is looting items and theyāre not appearing in the program that sounds really bad⦠but if items are overall disappearing, itās hard to investigate it with the mindset of IA being at fault⦠(spare time vs probability)
I donāt really have any immediately good suggestionsā¦
slipperypete - Hereās an example of āprogress not being saved.ā
I have Dravisā last letter to Daila in my inventory. I read it, get 10k exp, and then log out. When I log in, itās back in my inventory (in the same spot) and Iām able to read it again. So, when I ran the crucible, everything I picked up wasnāt there when I relogged, and my character was in the state it was before I made the run.
Iām going to full rip out GD/Steam/GDIA. Do some system work to clean things up and see if that helps. Itās just been a week of BS with this game, and it seems to have started when GDIA updated itself, but I canāt prove that and things have become so convoluted that Iām better off starting from scratch.
Iāll report back. Thanks!
I have a funny issue where IA eats my stuff, but it fails to find it in the program. But hey, at least I got a random Belgothian level 75 ring, which I had never in my stash.
I doubt I have to wait few minutes or hours for it to load stuff.
Hello !
Iāve got two questions : Do i need to do anything specific to make it work after the latest grim dawnās update ?
And is there a way to directly SHARE items between two players, with the buddy function ? (like a guild stash in other games. for now i can see what my friendās got and ask him to trade them with me, but thatās it. that could help us farming in separate ways and hours and still feel like we somehow play together.)
