Pete, you are a genius and I thank you.
It seems to me as if there are some problems with class prefixes and skill modifiers:
The items name:
Arcanistās Ruby Ring of the Basilisk
What the Item assistant shows:
+1 to Inferno
What is actually on the item:
+1 to Inferno
+1 to Shattering Smash
The items name:
Nightbladeās Star of Scorched Ends
What the Item assistant shows:
+2 to Eye of Reckoning
What is actually on the item:
+2 to Eye of Reckoning
+1 to Amarastaās Quick Cut
The items name:
Necromancerās Eldritch Tome of Shattered Reality
What the Item assistant shows:
+1 to Raise Skeletons
What is actually on the item:
+1 to Raise Skeletons
+1 to Albrechtās Aether Ray
Maybe this is a coincidence but to me it seems like a bug.
Send me your export.ias file (backup) so I can take a look at these specific items, and Iāll get it fixed =)
Maybe it is a more general problem in GDIA where it cannot show bonuses for two or more different skills?
It canā¦ but probably some combination that IA does not support.
Since I havenāt actually played the game for years, I rely on users submitting their exports to see new items / new item combinations =)
Problem identified & working on a fix.
EDIT: It may take a while, Iām trying to work out a graceful fix for itā¦ too many quick fixes and not properly designing for this has complicated things. Rough estimate: Within a week.
Thank you!
With such an awesome tool like this, how do we entice you back? Seriously though, thanks for the hard work on this.
Will there be a database update and if so, when?
Can you elaborate on your question?
Is there something that clicking āLoad databaseā does not resolve? Some sort of lack in IA?
Ok seems to be a misunderstanding about how item assistant works. So once the patch is installed I only need to reload the game database in IA and all the changes on items will be visible IA?
Yup.
IA used to do it automatically, but a small subset of IA users has incredibly shitty PCs, and would just rather not have IA be inoperational for an hour while it parses
IA will usually only require an update for expansions.
Just reinstalled GDIA after the last update- GDIA now says it canāt find my game location. In the Database/Mods tab, it shows the actual Steam install location of GD correctly, but there is a message at the bottom of the window āCould Not Find the Grim Dawn Install Locationā.
The log is reporting this:
[23/11 13:01:50] DEBUG Looking for steam registry keyā¦
[23/11 13:01:50] INFO Steam config location located
[23/11 13:01:50] DEBUG Key not found, stopping parse of steam config
[23/11 13:01:50] DEBUG Looking for Grim Dawn GOG installā¦
[23/11 13:01:50] DEBUG Grim Dawn GOG install not foundā¦
ā¦ then looping this set of statements over and over again.
Any thoughts?
Close GDIA.
Start grim dawn,
then start GDIA, it will automatical find your gd install location.
I use this method fix problem, same as yours.
Aaaandā¦ it worked!
Thank you very much!
Start GD before IA, and thereās a 99.9% chance IA will detect it.
EDIT: Took a gazillion attempts to be able to reply, already solved i see.
