Good news. I have no idea why it might be happening too, but at least there’s a workaround. I couldn’t live without this, as I’m a serial hoarder
I get the same thing and it doesn’t seem to cause any issues. Not sure why it shows the icon with the red cross; maybe because the site is down? Instinctively that would say to me it hasn’t been backed up to the cloud. Either way, at least there’s a method to take a local/Dropbox backup. I’d hate to lose my stash. The horror
items were not looted due to being possible duplicates (bugged items)
Since today i encounter the following error:
xx items were not looted due to being possible duplicates (bugged items)
I tried following:
- restarted Grim Dawn
- restarted GD Item Assistant
- adding only one item (that i don’t had till now)
- adding multiple item
version 1.2.6756.33459 from 01.07.2018
This message appears in the UI , i don’t see it in the Log file.
Everything worked fine until yesterday.
same problem
After further testing:
i asume that every item has a kind of unique ID, thats what this message is about.
I have done following:
[ul]
Crafted a lov level Boot that i did not have in the stash at all. Tried to transfere it into GDIA database - worked![/ul]
- tried to stash Helltome, did not work, so i looked up and saw that i had 4 Items in the GD stash. I transfered all to stash 4. Worked perfectly. Now i took this 4 and put them one by one into stash 5. And voila, GDIA stash worked and put this Item back into the database.
- I tried it with a second item (mythical spelldrinker) and i retrieved 3 items from my GDIA Database. Upon closer lookup i saw that one of these where the exact sdame as the one that did not work.
My assumption: GDIA stored the item into the database but did not delete them from stash 5 (i had like 40 items), now all of these are duplicates. I dont know if some transaction is done here, but something failed. I checked 5 more items, same. I went killing some monsters and stried to store the freshlöy dropped item. It worked.
Solution: Vendor all these items, but not before checking one or two for duplicates!
Be aware, if you have one duplicate in store 5 and open the Blacksmith dialoge menu, the Item will dissapear.
it does not truly have a unique ID but the seed for the RNG, which is almost the same thing (i.e. there is no guarantee for it to be unique, but chances of two items having the same seed are almost 0)
I assume that when you mention GD stash and GD database you mean GD (the game) or Item Assistant, never the tool called GD Stash
It happens to me sometimes too. The “fix” for me was to find the items and remove them from the GDIA stash, then put those and the items it couldn’t loot first time round into the “to loot” stash, and GDIA then picks them up. I guess it must be related to the seed rather than the actual item, as I had some epics and 1 legendary that it complained about and I had the same ones in GDIA, but they had different stats. Actually I can’t remember for the legendary, but I think they all had different stats. I don’t know the inner workings of GD/GDIA though.
Whenever I click “Transfer to Stash” it pops up the warning “cannot deposit item, please ensure stash 3 is empty”,but I’m sure stash 3,4 are all empty.Does it matter?
Nah its ok
Hello, I’m playing the gog version of the game with only vanilla + crucible installed and I’m thinking about using item assistant. If in the future I add AoM will I have any problems with items stored in GDIA? Anything to keep in mind? Thanks.
From what we know GDAI is no longer supported by the original developer and I personally had problems with the tool (it lost few items for no reason) so I decided to switch to GD Stash.
Welcome to the forum.
No, no problems at all. All you need to remember is that AoM will add an extra stash tab to the personal and transfer stashes so you’ll need to use the 5th one to transfer from the game and the 4th to transfer into the game instead of the 4th and 3rd bags for vanilla.
Not sure why you say that? slipperypete is here on the forum fairly regularly, last posted in September. Not sure how much work he may be doing on the tool atm, but with any luck he’ll update it for FG when it comes out.
The tool has not been updated for months and there are multiple bug reports left unanswered. I know someone messaged him directly and he said he’s too busy with other stuff to continue developing GDAI.
Well, that’s a shame. It’s a nice tool.
Migrating to GD Stash should be quite painless. (It can import .IAS files, and IA can export .GDS)
For cases of item loss:
I refer to this forum thread, which already contains what I repeat to everyone over the different communication channels.
It’s been a year since i communicated that IA will rely more on community support, not on my spare time.
> xx items were not looted due to being possible duplicates (bugged items)
This “issue” has two solutions:
1) Check if IA actually contains the identical item (transfer it into the game, check the exact stats). 99.99% certain it does, and if so, simply delete it. It’s gotten duplicated.
2) Roll back to the ~January ish version of IA, which allows you to duplicate items instead of whining about it.
3) The people’s favorite, find the duplicate in IA, transfer it ingame, and then transfer both the items together, and IA won’t notice they’re dupes.
Would a checkbox be preferable, to be able to toggle the behavior? I do not believe the cause is within IA, and thus not within my power to correct.
> For X/y items looted / similar incorrect textual feedback from IA
These are minor issues that I consider it acceptable to live with. If anyone wishes to correct them, I’ll be happy to review and accept new code to IA. The code is available on github.
The last update to IA was the 13th of September, fixing the online backup solution in Azure.
No further updates are scheduled for IA until there’s a breaking change in GD.
On the technical level, IA never deletes items:
- Your stash is copied to the backup folder, in case something goes wrong.
- IA will read the transfer file
- IA will attempt* to store any items it finds from the configured stash tabs.
- IA will create a new stash file, excluding any items it has managed to store.
- IA will write this file to a temporary location
- IA will move the file, replacing your stash file.
*) IA has a unique check on the record/seed, preventing duplicate items (this also includes components/augments/etc, which are always duplicates)
It is my theory that an issue in GD causes the game to not read the updated stash file. I cannot reproduce this issue, and will most likely forever remain a theory.
Due to the way IA loots items, this affects IA to a much greater extent than GD Stash.
As mentioned in my previous post, if you prefer duplicates you can roll back to an older version, or if neither situation is acceptable, simply export the items to GD Stash, which should only take a few seconds.
The red X refers to the online backup solution.
To activate it, go to backups and click “Login”. Login is available via Live, Gmail or a simple activation code via e-mail. Your items will then be backed up to Azure. In the event of a disaster, simply logging back in will restore your items in the future. (Also supports keeping two computers in sync, for those who play on both a laptop and stationary, off by default it incurs higher expenses.)
For the offline backup options, keeping a copy of your backup safe is your responsibility. IA merely stores a copy of its items in the requested location(s).
Guys is this possible that this program not add all items from stash tab??
1.I put dont know 8-9 items to last tab and fastly minimize game to see program info about “received number of items” and there was only 5 - I checked log and there was only 5???..Also how to do that info about receiving items to show in game at bottom of the screen?
2.Also second thing it is possible to some items loose his bonus for pets when received by program ?? I put item with 3 bonuses to pets and in program it shows only 1 (damage) - same after sending back to stash…
3.I put 4 items with bonus to pets (damage) with different values - 25%,30%,33%,28% - but when browse them in program it shows on all of them 30%-after sending back to stash everything looks normal they have again proper values…
Most interesting thing for me is a 1st question - it is possible that program cant handle sometimes many items at once to retrieve? and loose somewhere some of them(they dissapear from stash tab but are not added to progam database) - I dont know which items exacly they were because I play in my language so item names are in my language and Item Assistant translate them to english - I can only watch about stats or interesting modifier - but I watch at total number of items in program with pet modifier(I start use it few hours ago - so for now I have around 70 items only and only few with pet modifier) and I noticed something is wrong with it - especially when adding many items at once - as I say I put 8-9 and Item assistant retrieve only 5 in log…Also I am not sure but I think 2 of them lost modifiers for pets(they have 2 or 3 but in program and after stash back they have only 1 - Damage)? It is possible? Someone experienced similar things?
