I am coming back to GD after a year, and I needed to reinstall windows during that time (from Win7 to Win10, actually). I saved my standard GD files, reinstalled the game and IA is working (I did not reinstall it), but there are just no items.
I don’t remember anything specific where I saved the data. Can I find my items somehow, or were they stored in a standard windows user folder (i.e. they are gone)?
I am dropping from 110 Fps to 80 in the Main town, and its also making combat quite laggy because of that performance drop
But the thing is…even after i close GWIA, the issue stays, i need to reboot the game to get back my lost fps
Also nothing is changing performance wise
Hello,
My stash got full and I went ahead and installed this tool.
When placing items in the corresponding tab, and after walking away from the stash, I get the following message: “No matching items found”. I’ve lost a few items but that’s OK. It says it’s transferred but I have nothing on the tool screen.
edit
This got sorted out, I just needed to “load database”.
Gave a shout out on the IA Discord, see if anyone else is suffering from it.
If its a “common” issue I’ll look into reducing the load IA does inside GD.
Only read player position every 30 frames instead of every or such.
I think I ran into a known issue. I started playing on Hardcore and I put some of my items to the shared stash using IA (only the 1st tab was available at the time). Roughly an hour later I did not find anything in the stash nor in IA, however I purchased a second tab. I did not quit the game in the meantime and I saved the log file of the session.
I tried getting my items back based on the guidlines of „How do i restore a transfer stash? (lost items from tab1 / tab2 for example)" but it just did not work, no items appeared. Is there a Hardcore specific thing about the file structure?
One more thing regarding my earlier post. With my friend we used the Buddy feature so he knows which items I used to have. Is there a (smooth) way of recovering those items by using his data?
I was using this app for a while then got a new computer. Its same version of windows 10 64 bit.
While I was importing my old database my computer blue screened (I was installing some drivers). Now I can’t get the ui to start…I can see it for a second or two in the windows explorer process list then it just dies.
I’ve tried:
Reinstalling (I am using the current version from your site)
Deleting it and then reinstalling
Deleting it and grim dawn and reinstalling.
Deleting everything from C:/Users/<my user>/Documents/My Games/Grim Dawn (I have backups so I am just trying to get the item assistant running)
I never see any UI, just a brief 1 or two seconds in the process explorer then nothing. I don’t see any logs anywhere in C:/ProgramFiles/GD Item assistant with any clues to why its not starting. I am not currently running any antivirus and i don’t see anything blocked in windows defender.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Figured it out! I had to delete the AppData\Local\EvilSoft directory and reinstall!
I thought I’d try installing this utility today, and got real curious when after the install I was prompted to restart my PC. Usually things like this only occur when a driver is installed or something is registered to start-up with windows. Is this tool doing anything like that? Needless to say it was unexpected.
IA itself should never ask, as it doesn’t need it.
However, it will also install .net framework, VC++ runtimes etc if they are missing. Those dependencies may ask you to restart.
Either way, probably runs just fine even if you don’t.
