[Tool] Grim Dawn Skill Calculator

Updated to B26 hotfix 2. As is tradition, might need to refresh :stuck_out_tongue:
Didn’t update anything else yet, so a few things missing will still be missing  Nothing major, tho.

Not sure what patch added that, but exists in grim calc, as of now. I skipped B26HOTFIX1, so if that change was made in that patch, that would explain it.

Anyway heres an image so the page doesn’t look full of text :stuck_out_tongue:

probably still doing the same stuff

To this day I’m still waiting for my achievements to come back :o

I don’t know when exactly he disappeared from here either… But popcorn is popcorn so love it

edit: new page !!

Uhhh Blade trap does -DA%, instead of flat -DA.

Updated. The footer should now read:

for Grim Dawn B26 hotfix 3(0.3.4.8), 21/06/2015

The cache time is 3 hours so if you have the new version of site(from yesterday) we shouldn’t have to ctrl + f5 anymore :stuck_out_tongue:

Also monsters pages are updated to latest database, in the last 2 builds the file grew from 2 MB to 3.4 MB, that was a surprise

these indexes list by name/race/group, so they are not very useful but if you were to wonder how much resistance a monster has…

these are under development and I am only posting it to note that it is for current build, all monsters have the same image and these are not nice pages, but if you were to wonder about something, these could be used for a quick look… its WIP so please do tell if the info is incorrect but I am aware of the rest of the bad things.
http://grimcalc.com/monsters

http://grimcalc.com/monsters?view=champion
http://grimcalc.com/monsters?view=hero
http://grimcalc.com/monsters?view=quest
http://grimcalc.com/monsters?view=boss

changing a monster level will change its attributes(hp etc.) and skill stats
heres warden(2) for example: http://grimcalc.com/monster?f=warden02
lv 15:

lv 25:

and the overview has its attributes… will expand this later on.

Thats bad. will fix these things soon, I kept ignoring these but now that I don’t see anything obviously missing, I guess these are the next step :stuck_out_tongue:

Funny you say that…

Hi!

I am using your Skill Calculator frequently for a while now and I really like it, but there are unfortunately some wrong skill descriptions. I don’t know if these are mentioned here before, I don’t wanna read through 30 pages, so I write them down quickly.

Demolitionist

  • Mortar Trap and Thermite Mine: attributes and abilities missing
  • Flame Touched: % fire retaliation missing
  • Ulzuin’s Chosen: description needs update
  • Canister Bomb, Blackwater Cocktail, Ulzuin’s Wrath and Explosive Strike: burn damage values need update, they got higher
  • Improved Casing: missing at all
  • Full Spread: Electrocute Damage increased as well

Occultist

  • Blood of Dreeg and Armor of the Guardian: % acid damage missing
  • Bonds of Bysmiel and Manipulation: Bonus to All Pets missing

Arcanist

  • Manifestation: Bonus to All Pets missing
  • Arcane Will: Energy regeneration missing
  • Callidor’s Tempest: radius needs update
  • Inferno: burn damage needs update
  • Olexra’s Flash Freeze: duration needs update
  • Absolute Zero: frostburn damage needs update

Nightblade

  • Merciless Repertoire: % acid damage missing

Soldier
I think I did not find anything wrong here, but when you apply a skill modifier where the number of targets increases it updates the original skill’s description in the game. For example you pick Blade Arc, it has 5 target maximum. Then you pick Laceration, it has 6 target maximum in the description, but when you pick it, the description of Blade Arc updates to 11 target maximum. The same with Blitz + Blindside and Cadence + Fighting Form and also with projectiles at the Demolitionist Stun Jacks + Full Spread.

Well meanwhile I started to check every damage over time skills which apply internal trauma, bleeding, poison, burn, frostburn and electrocute damage and probably all of them got buffed heavily, I don’t wanna list them all.

That’s for now, if I find anything else I will post it.
Thank you for your work!

so apparently the skill tree for demolitionist changed in the game files, it is now displayed correctly. Note that I also had to fix save/load stuff of the site, if something is displayed incorrectly, do tell  (during my short testing, I haven’t noticed anything. But as someone who doesn’t notice a missing skill and/or check, I don’t have much credibility i guess :p)

you basically wrote the game changelog, congratz :stuck_out_tongue:
snark aside, much appreciated thank you

fixed the missing % fire retaliation

ulzuins chosen: description looks fine, if you meant the missing color/styling, thats fixed.

Improved Casing: fixed

fixed the missing % acid damage

added the bonus to pets

for the ones you mentioned their values were wrong, they shouldn’t be. if it is still the case, then ctrl+f5. it used to be a 3 day period for each update, which is apparently too long for a game that gets 3 patches in that period :stuck_out_tongue:

For the summons missing their health/mana values, will implement. will look into soldier thing later on.

Please don’t feel the need to check for skill values(as in, numbers of properties) errors for more than one skill, because if one is faulty that should mean the site version was old and I have the fix the whole thing anyway. and that would be enough info for me.

Other than that, By the time you posted it I think the site was already updated, but you were probably using your browser cache(because I used this time to a long period), a fix would be CTRL + F5, also on the site footer there is a last update date which should now display:

for Grim Dawn B26 hotfix 3(0.3.4.8), 23/06/2015

If the footer was correct but the site was wrong, thats something bad I shoud look into, but unlikely, was it the case?

Fixed. Thanks.

btw I start doing these fixes from the bottom so there is unfixed reports before this post, that doesn’t mean I won’t go back to these :stuck_out_tongue:

thats it from me for today

Thanks for the answer and the update, the acid damage from Blood of Dreeg was missing for a long time, that was were I started but I checked some other skills and I wrote them down. The site was always the newest version, I see the updates now, I don’t know if the damage over time values were updated already but I cannot see them updated. The site is on the newest version as I mentioned.

Ulzuin’s Chosen: “Affects Stun Jacks, Grenado and Canister Bomb and requires one to unlock.”
I still see the old text here, that it affects grenado and cannister bomb and requires both to unluck.

Also, if you can, you should make the skill requirements work just like in the game, so you cannot add point to a modifier as long as you did not put one point in the main skill etc. But this is definitely not a big issue now. And you should make a link to the monster page from the main page.

My bad, I will have to update the text files. Also a transmuter in demolitionist is broken(no desc./tooltip), will fix in a few~ days along with the bug reports I skipped previously. Regarding skill requirements, I have always told myself “its obvious in skill tree and it would just make it harder copying from game to calc” but its mostly an excuse I guess :stuck_out_tongue: I will add some pages to sidebar as I complete them, but its all WIP for now.

Thanks once again.

You know, you’re right. You’ve lost all credibility from me… cause I could totally just make my own awesome Grim Dawn Skill Calculator website and keep it updated when the Devs are vigorous in patching every hour occasionally, while providing perfect a perfect experience for the end user. Yeah, I tottaalllllyyyyyy have those skills.

In a more serious manner, I’m thankful for what you’re doing and letting me theory craft about 10 times easier

You’re awesome! Keep up the good work!

Also, the Phantasmal Blades transmuter needs it’s name and flavor text changed <3

Not sure if this is a bug or not (or if its been reported before), but Reckless Power changes the Health reported on the menu even though its not a passive buff like, say, Military Conditioning. Its nice for comparative purposes, though.

Hello,

will there ever be an option to check top builds on the page for each class or all-together?

this is just an example what I mean: http://arche-base.com/

sounds like easy enough to implement when next time im updating the site.

here is a list of a quick most popular list :stuck_out_tongue: (last 14~ days, and only these days counted. I don’t know about their creation date.):
the first one in this has +2k~ visits, and the last one has a bit more than 500.

what do you guys think the correct behaviour would be without expanding this info to a new panel as well? I will eventually have to add a more detailed stats, but until then, would you prefer if I disabled that type of skills or kept as is?

and of course will fix soon (~tomorrow? :p) thanks

Not sure if it’s already been reported, but the BWC transmuter, High Potency, isn’t showing a hover tooltip.

Eyyyy

Number Three!

[with regards to reckless power]: what do you guys think the correct behaviour would be without expanding this info to a new panel as well? I will eventually have to add a more detailed stats, but until then, would you prefer if I disabled that type of skills or kept as is?
I’m indifferent, just caught me off guard. Could leave it as is if you’ve got more important things to update.

wow, they’re all bad :undecided:

My thoughts as well :undecided:

But I suppose you have to factor in a mysterious fun factor rather than pure unbridled optimization.

Updated the tooltips, the missing ones are there now and the old descriptions are switched with the new ones. and before anyone posts about it: ‘39lightning damage’ is written instead of ‘39 lightning damage’ on static strike. French is still on the old version because the site failed to parse the “high potency”, either they don’t have the tooltip for that translated yet, or there is something else interesting about their files compared to other languages, maybe some code that I didn’t account for.

I haven’t looked into where they come from but they are decided by views so its basically which forum thread gets the most views. I’d expect some good builds won’t be getting much views because their links will be getting updated based on suggestions, and some will be getting views by random factors like they were linked from a popular thread etc.

The grimcalc is bugged for me.
There’s no allocated skills ( I tried like 10 different build, all have the same problem).

I’m using Google Chrome, fully updated.

Have you tried it without any plugins running to see if its a plugin issue?

Edit: Also be sure the build is for B26. If its an older build, it wont display properly.

He said “no allocated skills” but if it was an older build, there would be errors but it would be like a skill having its points missing, or given to something else. I think this only applies to links from the older site as well, so this is unlikely.

For the plugin issue parts, thats what I think as well.

I agree with ibugsy, also;
When you say “no allocated skils”, do you mean return links come blank, or is it completely unusable as well? Also were these “10 different build” made by same person or around the same date, or were these current builds?

For example, can you play around with this, add and remove points
http://grimcalc.com/Mastery/Demolitionist

Does this link load?
http://grimcalc.com/build/ULGTaC

Can you try these in “private mode” of your browser, preferably with plugins disabled(I think by default plugins come disabled in that mode)

If it doesn’t work in private mode, with all plugins disabled, to confirm this is an issue about browser, can you also try this in some other browser?

I think the issue is about using something like “https everywhere”, “noscript” or something similar.
