Hello guys,
I dont know whether someone has already argumented this in another topic, so here it goes: Why do tower guards use swords? They never get into melee combat to really use them.
Right now it feels like a waste of material and golds to get swords for them. Everytime a tower is taken down, they get killed instantly and that sword is gone forever. 
They fight with them if they are catched outside tower. Like when they go grab supplies and raiders attack them where on the way back.
Plus is they will never take any better melee weapon.

Still doesnt change much because they wear the worst cloth for combat. Sword on their hands is so much useless.
still better than bare hands and in case of raiders they can manage in case of armies even Your barrack soldiers can be useless.
Personally it be nice if they didn’t lose their guard status after the tower is destroyed allowing them to melee then if you don’t say… rebuild the tower after a acouple month or a year THEN they revert back to laborers

With that one i agree but ususally if there are enough raiders to take down the tower the guards will die figthing them in melee.
true but they can always be coded to run too
the worst is when they decide to go off stocking shelter or wandering just as the raiders arrive, even though I made sure they had weapons, often suddenly they now have none, and go off in search leaving towers inactive…
