[TUT] How to import Titan Quest models into the editor

Elfe, if you could add following changes to your converter that would be awesome!
So, inside the TQ:IT .msh files, after the header [4D53480B] could follow
a byte sequence “00000000 08000000 01000000”!
This is an empty -mif data sequence…(I can’t explain it better, sorry for that!)
But this is the reason, why some meshes are not showing up in the editor/viewer!

We need to remove/change this sequence…
So please let your converter check the .msh files for this byte sequence at offset 4 and change it to “0D000000 08000000 01000000”.
Changing byte 5 to 0x0D would be sufficient… :wink:

I hope I’ve explained that understandable for you…

I’ve tested it and for me it works very well…
Here is the short video where you can see that also the small butterflies
from TQ:IT are now displayed correctly…that wasn’t the case before. :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT: Hmm…for me it’s visible…can’t say if it’s working or not,
perhaps there is need of some .dbr editing.

(finally) added support in the newest version (1.1) for empty mif meshes.

It also detects halfway converted meshes (meshes that were converted with an earlier version) and fixes them.

God damn it, this time it really trolled me q.q

Mmmh, I know you could be thinking about a troll but if you’re nice maybe include a “patcher” so we just have to select current imported meshes folder. (don’t beat me please).

There is still some mesh that appear in editor but doesn’t show.

Like Xpack ==> creatures ==> Furies

And, for your ArcUptades if there is unexistant folders like for me “Level Art”.arc it stops the compilation.

And previous non-working animations still doesn’t work (not to make you sad)

But now a lot more of objects are visible especially items.

That’s not the mesh i’m talking about … effects/stealth/trap_projectile.msh is the one. It shows up in my viewer -

but not ingame. I will keep trying to see if maybe I borked some link somewhere, but if it shows in the editor - at least it is converted right?

I have no problem displaying it as well.

On my side the furies shows up in the game with animations.
There must be a point in my tutorial that you’ve missed or that was
not understandable.

That’s odd.

OK, I figured it out. I added a ‘projectilelaunchanimation’ by mistake for the trap projectile effect and apparently that just prevents any meshes or effects from spawning during the launch period. O.o weird

Do you have the trap working with the animation ?

The spawn animation doesn’t work yet, but the firing animation and everything else is working. Still very fun though, think you won’t be disappointed

Hmm, I can’t find any drxcreatures or drxitems in my folders.

I guess that’s the reason why some meshes not working for you.
The UpdateArcs.bat stops the execution.
Try to remove the lines with not existent folders from the batchfile.

All furies are visible on my side, not only the hero.

DRX are from underlord, those are munderbunny’s directories iirc.

have you had any luck with weapons? I see in your msh0b.txt that there are some weapons from xpack, but nothing else. I haven’t converted my items yet so I cannot check, but have you any luck with these?

Ok, Glocken I have an advanced question.

I have my spears working and in game, very cool but one problem, they spawn backwards! The character holds them the wrong way with the spear facing backwards and when you use any attack, you hit with the back of the spear. :confused:

Do you know a way to flip the model?

I have got a big issue with the compilation of the databse. But now a lot more meshes are showing and I’ve a lot more animations. Gonna clear everything and retry.

But why I post here it’s to know if u’ve already see that things which we can’t see in game are meshes without textures ?

Sounds like some of the textures are missing. I found one or two files missing textures but I haven’t gone through everything. No idea how to fix those besides manually linking the textures in assetmanager
