So I’ve been testing stuff a lot as of expansion’s release, and I’d like to know if it’s at all possible to have two grim dawn installations, one for testing and one for legit playing - because I got tired of all save file swapping back and forth. Copying a client over from Steam just doesn’t work because the save files are still on the system drive and correspond there. Any ideas?
I have a GOG and a Steam version on my PC. I’m not using Cloud Saving, so both version have access to the same save game files.
Same for me. I swapped out my Steam copy when the option to change to GOG was offered so my main game is there. A few weeks later was asked if I’d like to become a playtester (yes of course!) so back Steam went on my PC because that’s what the devs/playtesters use. I don’t use cloud saving and can access my toons with either version.
Well that’s exactly the problem though, I want to keep test characters and characters that I play on (same with the game client) separate.
Then you can use Cloud Saving with the Steam installation, which uses a different folder for your chars, stash, etc.
