Why the enemy heroes with retaliation damage? This really doesn’t help when building an Archanist!
Moving through areas at a good pace… slaying enemies like a boss… boom… insta-death… Go back and see enemy hero has retaliation damage… eventually kill enemy hero after using 9028393405 potions and taking a retarded amount of time to get the kill with the lowest possible damage skill I have.:mad:
Then go through Ancient Gates in the Steps of Torment and slay magnificently like a true champion… find basic skeleton enemy hero… cast devastation (like I use to all enemy heroes while moving at a good pace)… boom… insta death.
Seriously. This is a REALLY sucky thing to give enemy heroes especially in really busy environments where there really is only time to slay, cast, slay, cast cast cast… star… cast best… win… win… win… boom insta death
Seriously… not even Chooch in the Secret Passage in TQIT was as bad as these GD retal heroes.
Reflect is annoying but they have buff animations, wait for it to wear off or kill/freeze/stun them before they cast it like shield on top of head of skeleton guys, orange or bluegreenish glow with spikes around
Enemies like the Skeletal Knights move towards the player at a very slow rate. In addition, they are mostly completely melee in their attacks. I would think that an enemy that is typically slow and melee is in it’s right to have a feature of it’s defense that means the player can not simply stand slightly away from them and just pop them with completely disregard for other mechanics.
Reflect is a legitimate game mechanic that doesn’t necessarily demand the players attention but if you simply go around unleashing your full arsenal on all enemy types with little to no consideration given to what else might be in their arsenal I again, don’t find it inconceivable nor unjustified that you may come across a few nasty surprises along the way…
Agree with what Dekaron said. Put volume up at a considerable level, and then wait for the Reflection aura’s beginning. It’s visible as a spikey aura, similar to D2LOD’s Aura Of Thorns, except this one is around the chest of the hero.
Once it’s over, then cast your shazzam and pow-wow the baddie outta the Cairn’s hemisphere.
PS: I have a clvl 60 Arcanist and I’ve gone through the same experience. So I understand the pain.
I think the idea is indeed to stop you in your rampage and make you pay attention to what type of heroes you are facing.
As an arcanist, you are overequipped to deal with reflect: Mirror and Nullification. Other masteries don’t have such easy counters. You just have to feel the pain of a Demolitionist who just procc’ed Ulzuin chosen 2 times in a row and launched 3 cannister bombs on a reflect heroe.
