Okay, I know this has probably been asked a lot, so please don’t crucify me for asking…but has anyone got concrete numbers on drop rates in ultimate vs elite? I just finished elite with my pyro, totally facerolled everything including Log, but I put in the time to grind levels and decent gear. Elite was a blast, tons of epics and a surprising number of Legendaries, even if none of them were for my build (that’s a whole other conversation, but let’s just say, if I ever build a cold focused archainst, the monsters are in for a massacre). So, time to move on to ultimate for some of that sweet, high level loot…or not so much. I am at the wardens dungeon now, and the drops so far seem much lower than elite. I realize that’s not too far in, and I remember on veteran the drops were pretty weak until act2+, so I’m just curious if things pick up later on. Also, are there certain items that only drop in ultimate and can’t be had in elite? I know people have decompiled the code, so I was just curious if anyone had stumbled across the actual drop rates for the different difficulties. And yes, I understand RNG, I’ve played thousands of hours of TQ, D2, D3, PoE, etc, I’m just trying to get a better feel for the mechanics in GD. Thanks.
RNG, i got 1 legendary in Elite and so far im in act 1 in Ultimate and already got 7 legendary drops.
It’s RNG. On Elite with my Warder i got around 3 legendaries. On Ultimate i got around 12 or 13 legendaries and i’m at Fort Ikon.
You are just having bad luck. I just ran a character from start of ult through warden and picked up 5 legendaries (including a Black Gem of Dreeg wohoo!). Ult drop rates are definitely higher than elite - assuming you can keep your kill speed up.
As for ultimate only items. I think some top version MIs are ultimate only? You can definitly get level 75 legendaries in elite - I got a piece of the Iskandra set there.
See, that’s why I’m wondering about the actual drop rates, because I got a bunch of lvl 75 legendaries in elite. A bunch. So I’m trying to decide if it’s easier to just gear up for ultimate in elite. I figured someone would have hard numbers (or at the very least, an approximation) on the differences since it’s all client side code, but maybe not. If there are ultimate only drops, then that certainly makes farming ultimate a clear choice, but if not, it becomes a bit more vague. Maybe I just used up all my favor with the RNG gods in elite, cause I’m not even getting green drops in ultimate, it’s bizarre. Anyways, thanks guys.
