Unable to return to main menu/reroll - freezes at loading screen

Hello just purchased the game.
If I start any game, I am unable to return to main menu / restart / reroll map.
It takes me to the loading screen , the sound will cut out and I have to force close the game.
I’ve left it for 5 minutes to see if the game would load but nothing happens.
I’ve tried different video option combinations and nothing seems to work.
No crash logs are being generated because of this, or at least I am not seeing anything in appdata>local>temp. Help? Do I need to refund the game? This is basically unplayable for me.DxDiag.txt (100.8 KB)

Also wanted to point out that I 'm unable to load any games. It’s the same issue, goes to the loading screen then crashes after a few seconds.

Check to make sure your security software is not falsely flagging the game’s .exe file or any other game files, and make sure your Steam Common Redistributables tool is up-to-date. Verify Game File Integrity on Steam should check for any missing or broken files and update the redists for you.

Looking at your DxDiag.txt, your machine looks more than adequate. So to be clear, you can start any new game and play. And you can also save. But if you try to return to the main menu / restart / reroll … or start fresh and load that saved game, you hang, correct?

It almost sounds like it’s some kind of disk read/write permissions thing. Like you’re running out of disk space or some anti-virus or OneDrive is causing issues.

Also, it looks like your computer is running two NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 cards? Is that true?

We maintain a debug version of FF on steam that you could try running. That will hopefully spew out some debug information that might help.

You can download it by doing the following:

Right-click on FF and choose, “Properties…”:

Select “BETAS”, type in “debugme01945”, and then click “Check Code”.

Then select “debug - debug build” from the dropdown:

This should download the debug version. Once that’s done, try reproducing your issues and report back with any debug text that shows up. You can set that dropdown back to “None” to get back to the retail game when you are done.
