Unimaginative Skelemancer Cabalist

I like your math. You should bring this up with Crate. :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT: Summon limit is the key phrase. You get 3 from RS and 7 from UL. The +1 from helmet means + summon to RS per cast of RS. So you summon 4 at a time up to 10 total.

Oooh, didn’t see it was just “+1 summon”, not “+1 summon limit” ><
Hey, that’s not bad at all, if they die :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the advice-I’ve pumped a bunch of points into a bunch of those skills that you mentioned to not bother with until later, so looks like I’ll be respeccing a bit. Well, a lot actually, but eh, it’s cheap-and I have two of those instant Devotion reset potions, so that saves me some shards. At least now I won’t die so easily-Act 5 was difficult, with Leafmanes and Aetherial Titans turning my poor Cabalist into a thin red paste.

No problem, I help it helps! Giving advice on what to spend SP on when is the most difficult thing about this guide so far because it feels very subjective based on gear drops and player skill/experience.

But it’s difficult to make crippling mistakes on this build, as just about any points you spend following the mastery pictures in the guide will help somehow. But act 5 definitely shows your mistakes to you. This is in itself valuable though, because it helps you learn the game/skills importance of what is responsible for what.

Typically, the biggest problem you’ll have when things get difficult is staying alive or keeping your skeletons alive (undead but not buried?), so that is what we want to patch up first. Once that framework is in place, we start addressing DPS by bumping things like hellfire, storm spirit, soul harvest and call of the grave.

Hungering void is such a big boost that you don’t have to go too crazy worrying about DPS early because by the time it becomes an issue you should have or be close to having hungering void.

All finished. Died once on Shaper but mainly due to not knowing the fight.

Overall Pets were great but the summoner’s toughness was less so. Really thinking about both Fiendflesh items. 20k shield every 20 seconds looks real hard to pass up.

Still found no decent items looks like its going to be a long farm.

Cool.

Same here. Finally got around to wrapping up Veteran. These drops are absolutely irritating. Not one single upgrade from act 3 drops and faction eq. But I’m seeing blue and purples for other builds. Of course.

Shaper was easier than the ding dong outside the door.

EDIT: Compared to other builds I have run up, it’s as expected. Summoners are pretty forgiving on gear requirements. No change there.

Okay. I was going to do some screen cap at the end of Veteran to help out people that were struggling, but I completely forgot. However, I have almost an identical setup at the beginning of elite except for a few more skill points and levels (vulnerability, storm spirit, and hellfire were the skills that were lower at that time).

I didn’t die at all on veteran and every piece of gear equipped was self found EXCEPT a deathchill relic I crafted from a recipe. I pushed my own poison/acid and aether res at act 5 but other than that focused mostly on +occult/+necro/+raise skeleton and pet bonus gear in that order.

If this helps anyone please let me know so I can update the guide accordingly.

Perfect! Not sure how far I am, just chose a faction in homestead and the right side gate opened up for more quests, but I was at a crossroad to decide what to do. I followed first part of your guide and maxed early skills mentioned. I had a lot of the single point skills and was going tomax points next into Bysmial and Blood of Dreg…seems like those are good choices. Really appreciate the update and another after you are done with next game mode would be welcome. Love your guide, amazing work!!

Guide updated. Mostly the leveling advice sections.

I just had this drop on level 40 boss:

http://www.grimtools.com/db/items/8097

Is this something that could last for a long time, and the +1’s be more valuable than pet buff damage/speed and health?

I’d be ALL OVER that drop. Yes.

hey just wondering used to play a pet conjurer a while back, back then it used to be best to max your summons out, but i see you 1 pointing them all except skellies. is that best way to go now or just thought points were better elsewhere?

Later in the game those 1 point summons get plenty of +SP boosts from gears to be perfectly powerful. Early game, we don’t have the points to spread around to invest in them so we are relying on +occultist items to put some meat on the bones.

Even at 1 point they are adequate early game for what we need them for: Their auras which power our skeles! Skeles are our bread, butter and appetizer, and skeles will typically be the ones getting beat on the worst/most. Shortchange the living and buff the undead.

Like reapersgaze said aura’s will give your pets more damage.

Use components depending on your level and pet damage type:

Serrated Spike
Vicious Spikes
Coldstone
Enchanted Flint
Vitriolic Gallstone
Wrathstone
etc.

Same for relics like:

Guile
Deathchill

Thoughts?

Since Nvidia Overlay requires a reinstall every reboot in order to record, I’d like to focus on a specific video to post up next.

What are your thoughts?

I’m not too keen on showing off xpac because I don’t want to spoil anything for the players who haven’t made the switch, but a lot of people seem interested in that. Maybe Fleshworks and Shaper?

I was leaning towards Elite Log with my self found leveling toon. Seems like it would be a good demo vid to me and I could hover the gear at the end to help new players with what items I chose to get there.

(Don’t even ask for Koopa. I won’t even acknowledge that request. :p)

Here’s a modification to the previous hardcore build.
http://www.grimtools.com/calc/4NOYG5KV (gear, +skills)
http://www.grimtools.com/calc/eZP48yPZ (no gear, no +skills)

Terrible. Your devotions are offense oriented and don’t even pick up Howl of Mogdrogen or Dying God. Cleansing Waters is not very valuable. 1 second cleanse with a small area. It’s best for removing buffs on bosses. There’s also better ways to get more slows in the build. Spectral Binding is mostly for some extra health, and you would get way more out of switching to defensive devotions with offensive passives. I also don’t see the point in investing heavily into Reap Spirit over skills that help all of your other pets.

Hi!

I’m a little bit confused regarding the skilltree.
Could you show me your recommended skill development at 50 and maybe 70?

Thank you!

Sorry for my noob question:
How can you see your dps with this build and check its evolution when i test a different gear?
Thks guys
