Unimaginative Skelemancer Cabalist

I used this build to basically melt Veteran until I hit xpac. Things are getting harder now and the boss in Candle District was touch and go. I have absolutely no gear that seems to make any sense for my build but I figure it will come in time. Getting all the resists is a challenge.

Honestly, hearing players tell me they are clearing xpac on Veteran without twink gear makes me pretty proud. Especially when at least one of them is such a new player he wasn’t sure whether he was supposed to be finding level 75 and 90 components in elite.

I’ll try not to let it go to my skull.

Well lets just say that having experience from over 3000 hours in PoE and like 2500 hours in D3 I like to thing that I have ~some~ idea how to play ARPG’s… But your build helped a ton, specially with devotion side (I still have very little idea how to even approach all those things).
And it helps that build can work even in you just press RMB on enemy, run like hell and pray that your summons can kill it. If not- resummon, run a lot more!

Just started expansion (on Veteran) - without spoiling too much: SO. MUCH. POISON?

This is me as well. Tons of ARPG experience and I ran a Druid up to level 65 a year or so ago. The things I find hard are itemization. Not sure if I should just go for life and resists or build specific stuff that doesn’t have those mods. I also know nothing about crafting and accidentally burned through all my aether mats combining stuff that will serve me no purpose in the hope that it would open up new options that might. I’m guessing I should just run through until I hit a wall and then start thinking about farming etc.

Also, forgot to thank reapersgaze for the build. Very helpful.

Don’t worry, I don’t know much as well, was lucky enough to get some gear with +necro and +skeletons buffs.
As for the gear- I recommend getting Rovers to Honored and buying at least their shoulders and chest armor, they are so very nice untill you find something more specific.

I had a retaliation warder leveled up to lvl ~70ish at some point, but ragequitted from being unable to do ANYTHING to ranged guys.

By the way, a bit offtopic, but:
is it better to push Ascendant Crucible to waves 100+ or Challenger at 0-50? (I keep dying at waves 47+, being charged by 3+ heroes is no fun :c)

Is it just me or is the expansion content SIGNIFICANTLY more diffiocult (or annoying)?

It gets better but yes. Aspect of the Guardian gets a little bit more valuable for some of the new stuff.

In fact, overcapping res about 10-15% seems to be the new 80% now. lol

Depends on your level. If you have a good idea what your limit is, try them both but cash out 10 levels early and compare the loot difference.

I found it significantly more challenging than vanilla content but I am one of the people that REALLY enjoys that. That’s what difficulty levels are for in my opinion.

I also just love the work Crate gave the visuals, area design, story/lore and I must say the music really blew me away. Maybe I’m just easy to please.

Can you please give me some recomendations on what should I work towards upgrading/leveling ASAP?

My word, these skeletons are broken in the early game. I’ve been able to mow down entire rooms just be walking towards enemies.

Well, I’m not a hybrid player but in broad strokes your character seems a little disorganized and spread out.

He’s obviously rocking skeleton army with heavy blight fiend, reap spirit and rav earth, but he could probably benefit with some trimming.

For instance: His occult summons aren’t really bringing anything to the party the way they are besides mouths to feed. I’d consider either supporting them better or doing away with them. Cut 'em. On that note, you’d be better going with spritbinder rings instead of chaos. This also gives you useful skill boost to reap spirit instead of hellfire you were not using. So now you have a lot of points to move around. I’d seriously consider splashing spectral binding and wrath along with picking up mark of torment.

Now I love a good circuit breaker but… if I were going rave earth and blight fiend, I’d be ALL over rotdrinker crest. You get a damage boost so does your BF.

Bring your CoF, Vuln and BoD back down to cap. They dont scale well past it. Pump that rav earth! Now you’ve got some hybrid damage on the board.

Keep the gloves because they’ll be well supported at this point and scavenger spirits are murderous.

Take a good hard look at your devotions. Mog Wolf is nice. Mog Wolf is great but there’s a lot of wasted synergy in that constellation for your toon. Maybe consider going into Murmur instead. Put it on your BF. Put Acid Spray on your Skeles. Put Reap Spirit on Scorpion Sting. Bone Harvest on Shepherds. CoF on Bysmiels Command.

Try that out. If you like it, maybe take another look at some of your gear/components/augments and see if you can tighten them up along the new focus.

Sorry, sorry, sorry, I got the wrong build there, my actual build here is http://www.grimtools.com/calc/lNkBgdvZ >< And my main question is about gear/components/augments

Sorry… That was just my fast attempt to come up with an idea how to build a summoner after the DLC.
The new link is my actual character who ~just~ entered DLC on Elite

Maybe put a scaled hide somewhere for better armor absorb. You can lose some element resist. If this is self found you’ve got some pretty decent gear. Might want to start running the random dungeons up from normal to get a feel for them and hunt for blue/purple. Crucible might be a good idea for gear.

Honestly I don’t have much to say. Is the character struggling?

It shares with other conversion on a split total. Since we RR both vit and chaos and boost both vit and chaos, the magic happens.

I see, thanks. Yes, full self found, never had characters make it to lvl 75+ before.
I guess I’ll sit in crucible, and try to get something out of it x)
He is not ~really~ struggling, apart from sometimes dying in something that stuns me for what feels like an eternity.

Got this from Anasteria after 4th or 5th quest boss in Port Valbury. Not bad.
