Up to Date FoI Build?

Looking to play something different shortly; my entire GD career has been playing exclusively ranged/melee. I’m not even sure where to start except I know that I’d need inquisitor lol. Thinking of trying fire or chaos, and I don’t want 100 buttons. That’s the main reason I’m not going for AAR spellbinder, too piano. Any help or pointers would be appreciated!

I suspect that grey_maybe’s FOI Paladin is considered up to date. The Grimtools doesn’t note anything particularly out-of-date about it, and with Guardians and Aura of Censure providing the RR, it shouldn’t be too piano for you either.

Done one fairly recently Purifier, Level 100 (GD 1.1.9.7) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator Not much to press and worked well enough. 4 out of 5 SR75-80s within timer. Gets a bit scary higher up against the big heavy phys swingers like Korvaak or Rashalga due to low health. OA is shit though.

No cast speed on the weapon not a problem? Seems like a cool idea. I also noticed a lack of chaos builds in the responses; is that cause it’s not really that viable an alternative to fire foi?

We just gave some our of builds / the most up-to-date ones but the Chaos FoI builds are good, don’t change much over the patches and you can find a lot of them on this forum.

I TC’d a retaliation FoI version here after some discussion on if this could be a thing. It might be interesting to see if it could work.

Possible Retal FoI/SoC

I think that the retal on the helm for SoC was increased in the latest test patch.
