Upgrade to Loyalist Edition

Hello,

since i bought this awesome game on Steam i had no clue that there was a loyaist edition of the game…
I would like to get it, but since i already have the game i dont wanna buy a second copy of it.
It would be nice if there was a way to upgrade your excisting game to the loyalist edition by just paying the difference.

Greetings Flawless

You could always buy the loyalist pack on steam?

the loyalist edition from steam doesnt give the same as the loyalist edition from the website

steam loyalist:

gives you illusion potions which you use on your gear to transform them:

:black_medium_small_square:Massively stylish George Washington powdered wig.
:black_medium_small_square:Helm of the Southern General
:black_medium_small_square:Admiral’s Hat
:black_medium_small_square:Helm of the Venerable General
:black_medium_small_square:Pillager’s Dread Helm
:black_medium_small_square:Swashbuckler’s Coat.
:black_medium_small_square:Enchanted Burrwitch Brew that never runs dry. Far from granting an unfair advantage, this vile brew is certain to dull your combat abilities and may induce vomiting.
:black_medium_small_square:Will-O’-The-Wisp pet that acts as a light source in the dark.

those can be found at Kory the Keeper (at the Devil’s crossing gate)

website loyalist:

same as the above illusion potions

+:

:black_medium_small_square:"Crate Story" downloadable PDF will detail our epic struggle to found a game studio and create Grim Dawn, from the final days of Iron Lore to release day. (Coming Soon)
:black_medium_small_square:First expansion when released.

This is pretty important to know, because lots of people still think that you get the same value when you buy the steam loyalist editon or the website loyalist edition, but it isn’t the same

differences: steam / website

I think Crete should rename Steam version or site version . Identical names for different goods cause too much confusion between them.

might be the best, I got this question a lot on steam from friends but also from new players who added me lol

It has already been recently renamed by Zantai due to the confusion. It went from Steam Loyalist Upgrade to the now Steam Loyalist Items Pack.

Plus, paragraph 3 of the Steam page for the Items Pack features this warning (in bold, no less)…

Note that this is virtual goods DLC costs over $50 less than the website full Loyalist, as it does not include the game, future expansion, soundtrack or other materials.

Not only that, he even made a sticky on the subject

At that point if a person cannot discern the obvious difference then their public school system has failed them and Crate can cleanly wash their hands of all culpability.

About the only thing I could recommend would be to change the actual BUY button on the Items Pack page, which still retains the old name, Buy Grim Dawn - Steam Loyalist Upgrade. He may not have been able to do that however as it strikes me that it may cause some issues with people’s current DLC listings that already owned it. PinballFX 3 has had issues with this particular problem in regards to changes they made to their PFX 2 DLC with the current backwards compatibility for PFX3. So, there is that.

Oh, common , children these day cant reed so much words at once, they have
goldfish memory =) By differen i mean not using the same word on both pack. Like call site Premium support version and leave steam as it is.

I imagine it seemed logical enough to them at the time to have “Loyalist” in the name since it was essentially a lesser extension of the original Loyalist and such a thing had been requested numerous times by people, hence why it was created in the first place. They probably didn’t foresee that the peoples of today would have so much trouble distinguishing the clear differences that in my humble opinion only require a) basic reading knowledge, and b) for you to open your eyes.

Alas, we overestimated people’s desire to read about the contents of what they are paying for.

There is no means to upgrade to the full Loyalist Edition, but the Loyalist Item Pack + Ashes of Malmouth (once released) gets you most of the way there.

From the Steam post…

"We observed recently that there has been some confusion regarding the differences between Loyalist Edition available through our website and the Loyalist Upgrade available for purchase on Steam.

To make the distinction absolutely clear, the Loyalist Upgrade has been renamed to Loyalist Item Pack.

The Loyalist Edition on our website ($64.99):

 • copy of Grim Dawn
 • in-game Cosmetic Items and toys
 • digital copy of the Soundtrack
 • digital copy of upcoming “Crate Story”
 • digital copy of the World Map
 • copy of upcoming Grim Dawn: Ashes of Malmouth

The Loyalist Upgrade (now called Loyalist Item Pack) on Steam ($8.99):

 • in-game Cosmetic Items and toys

As stated in the store listing:
"This Loyalist upgrade has been made available for the many people who bought on Steam originally then found out about the website Loyalist edition and asked for a way to upgrade and receive the virtual items included with it. Loyalist was originally created and priced for people who wanted to help support development and so, the price here is a bit of a premium for what you’re getting.

Note that this is virtual goods DLC costs over $50 less than the website full Loyalist, as it does not include the game, future expansion, soundtrack or other materials."

We expect the expansion to be priced at $17.99, so it does not make much sense for it to be included, along with some virtual items, in an $8.99 package."

Some people can’t help but believe in fairies, free lunch, and Nigerian princes that just need a little help. They’ll look for the best of it and close their eyes to all the warning signs.
