During testing phase, i tried several different items setup including Empowered Gorefeast, Brutallax, Empowered Bloodbathed Links, none of them improved my average timer for 100-150 clear, however Butcher of Burrwitch proc is really noticable HP sustain wise, every time i played another weapon i feel the loss immediately. (tho this extra HP sustain is not mandatory)
Also about the xx% chance of xxx% bleed damage, as far as i know this kind of proc work only through weapon damage spells, only blade arc can fully exploit the potential of it in this build, majority of the aoe damage are coming from devo proc & caster spell. (aoe power is kinda important into crucible)
Another strong point for Butcher of Burrwitch is the bleeding duration, which is something the build is starving for, since we have only ~150% without it.
In the end, attackspeed & +1 extra shaman, are not that useful since skillpoints point wise we are not starving and this build dont rely much on attackspeed either.
EDIT: was wrong about the bleed proc part, it work for pur caster spell aswell.
I tested emp. Gorefeast myself and it can do everything that Brutallax can, but hits faster. Despite the loss of crit damage, OA and %bleed. It can even go much higher though I guess its the chance of +500% damage and not very reliable.

Sounds weird, links have much more than your guthook. You are comparing 175/sec against 8 sec x 5 = 40 sec, if you also count +1 shaman as 25->26 savagery thats another 4/sec x 5 = 20 sec, so 60/sec (with 26/16 blade arc). Links also have duration you so much want.
Procs are not reliable against crowd though, so if you mostly use blade arc or rend on them that is what makes your timer.
Thank you Drizzto. After 770 hours of playing, I finally managed to solo clear gladiator crucible(and get achievements I wanted so bad)!!
I wasn’t expecting that much when I started crucible, but when I killed the last boss(zantarin) at stage 150 while having only one buff(power), I was full of tears. Tears of joy and success.
Now, this moment I enjoyed today will be a great memory throughout my whole life and it is going to be something to tell my grandchildren.
Thank you again and god bless you, Drizzto and your wonderful bleeding warder build!! (also rest of the grim dawn forum users).
I was really disapointed of Empowered Bloodbathed Links result actually, i thought it gonna be stronger than that.
Seems Crit damage & %racial are more reliable in the end. (and no, maiden is not the last human in GD :p)
My legacy is on the way!
Glad this thread helped you to fulfill your Gladiator completion dream.
Can you please post more detail guide on leveling for this build, I really appreciate that. For example from which Devotion to which Devotion, from which skill to which skill in order of your play. Thank you so much, I want to make this my first character to farm Crucible in order to start
It must be PITA in undead areas at early levels with bleed. So probably better to level with blade arc spam until you have devouring swarm maxed and both rend and acid spray at least partially leveled. Maybe even grab kraken for that, then respec.
Get a book and a gun.
Fireblast (Searing Ember)=>Greater Fireblast (Flintcore Bolts to gun), add Burning Weapons (Enchanted Flint to book) at 20.
Scholar’s Light=>Raven=>Magi (farm 5-10 points in Crucible then start main campaign).
Continue like this till lvl 30-40, respec to the build you want to play. Works with any class/build, some do it better due to innate support for fire damage and easier way to wear caster’s Spirit demanding items. Shaman add some nice mana regen in form of Mogdrogen’s Pact and alternative nuke (Devouring Swarm) for fire resistant enemies.
Alternative for shaman: level with Devouring Swarm/Grasping Vines/Briarthorn till 30-40, respec to the build you want to play.
Its all good except he won’t get rend and acid spray at level 30-40 and wont be able to kill any immune. Rend + swarm rigt now is almost not enough to debuff, not talking about level 1 rend. Now only conjurers can have both CoF and swarm maxed at level 30 and respec to bleed immediately after taking rend.
I suggest not even bothering with fireblast. Take blade arc (without clean sweep) around level 10, with 7-10 points in it at first, and a two hander. Don’t level it too fast because its very mana hungry. Get Kraken devotion and spam physical blade arc. And keep going like that until level 60? 70? Whenever you can get acid spray and rend with a few levels in them. If you focus to get just these two perhaps you can get them earlier, but you will have to move your devotion around alot.
What about highly resilient mob to bleed damage?
Sadly a significant quantity of mob type have heavy bleed resistance (near every undead/some chthonic/some Aetherial) which cripple the full potential of bleed build, actually it could have been one of the fastest Gladiator farmer without this issue.
To counter this i tried to get as much % racial damage as possible: 50% human, 39% chthonic, 24% undead, 15% beast.
sorry but I cant find where you get your 15% beast racial damage from. Care to clarify please?
After many succesful hours with dee build ii decided to change a little with this bleed butcher:)ii dont regret ! Insane !
With a little gameplay experience in crucible ii think succes rate is “almost every time”
Thx and keep up the good work.
