Hi guys just joined the grim dawn forums, great game have been playing for a bit now.
Here are my thoughts on certain mechanics.
Basically we know that if you are out of combat for a something like 2-3 sec your health bar automatically refills. What a great feature. After playing for a good while I realize the constitution has never dropped to 0 just through so many numerous auto refills which monsters drop. It seems like why bother having it in the first place doesn’t really add anything to the overall experience. IMO just remove it and keep the health refill as it is.
Auto merge all components. There is no good reason that i can see why someone would want to keep partials. All recipes for crafting are full components and I always find myself clicking merge all to saves space/tidy up button. Seems like unnecessary step to take which could be simplified.
Ability to auto pick up selected items. This would be a wonderful feature where you could select from a list of different items/rares/legendaries/components much like potions and money are picked up now. This feature would serve well in single player where I find myself clicking all the components anyway which just get merged into one.
Well most of these are simplifications to reduce click fest that some of the arpgs demand
Hmm well i certainly have never experienced once that happening to me and I already beat the game with 3 chars.
In terms of “cheesing”
Well you can always run out of the monsters range
Portal back to town
Go in and out of a cave
Run in a circle and hit a health potion
In my experience this was never an issue. And so I would suggest to remove it all together or perhaps increase the time out of combat or maybe reduce the drops of all the food items because right now I don’t even notice the difference.
