Hello dear GD Community and GD Dev’s
As usual if a new patch is coming and changing the game in a bigger way or chaning skills in some way I start a new Character and look how those influence my expierience. As for this patch Fire Strike and its Mod Explosive strike (I think?) got changed I was wondering how a Saboteur would do now by simply lvling those two skills to max first. At the start it was pretty standard trash bashing but as soon as some heroes came into play I started to realize that the change of the difficulty in veteran was pretty huge… (I am ALLWAYS playing veteran so I knew what to expect before^^) after I skilled FS I thought about making this char Tanky or atleast beefy since FS and Dual Wield later on will dish out enough Dps I was allready starting to Max out Vindictive flame and Pneumatic burst for Huge Hp reg and All speed and was going for Behemoth in the Devotion tree allready. I am not sure if some mobs or Dots are overtuned or smth but I died rather quickly to some hero+trash combos (I talk bout 2 getting 2 shoted or dying in like 2-3 seconds)
So since I dont know if this was intended or I dont know where I am trying to go to I simply wanted to ask you guys or the Dev’s If its just me or did you guys also experience that way? Also the ‘jumpy dmg’ that got mentioned in the patch for Elite difficulty … Veteran now feels like that but just worse since you dont have the right Skills or Items too deal with it ^^

This is my 0,02c about this new “feature” of explosive strike.
I made a demolitionist and was trying it and although it appeared quite good at first, I ended up dumping it because the outcome was just MEH at most.
Maybe investing in some constellations or something can make it better. I am now running a Cadence warder and the output dps is a lot better.
PS - And talking about Normal difficulty vs veteran it appears to me (in a nutshell) that normal is too easy while veteran can be pretty annoying at times (and you will die a lot more). Also due to RNG the loot received probably won’t be better either. I think there should be a middle-ground difficulty between Normal and Veteran and become the standard one. Why must we need so many iterations?: Normal, Veteran, Hardcore, Elite, Ultimate…
There are only 3 sequencial difficulties: normal, elite and ultimate
Veteran is just an option to spice normal a little.
Hardcore is just an option as well (permanent death).
A Hardcore character will also have to go through the 3 difficulties.
Yes I know that Veteran is an Option…
But not for me I would call myself a ‘Hardcore-Casual’
I liked the Challenge in Veteran but it never was like I got 1 or 2 shoted by anything ^^ If I done something stupid I knew that I would die prepatch but now with my mentioned char its like I die like a fly …
Also my Saboteur(lvl 45 now) is actually pretty Tanky (atleast I thought so) with his 500-600 Hp reg(WITHOUT behemoth Skill active) 4,5k Hp and pretty high Resistances (besides of Chaos/Aetherial only being around 30-40 ish) Good/Decent Armor Values and an Ok DA (last time checked 97% getting hit and a small chance of being crit)
Maybe I just invested too much into Skills this time thou and didnt put enough into the Masterybar will keep you guys updated since I started a Phantasmal Blade Char (siting at 20 now^^) also on Veteran
