Definitely think it should be addressed, but I would hazard a guess that adding a check for raiders to every single villager (and subsequently changing their immediate task/path/behavior and then storing their previous task to return to once the raid was over), particularly at higher numbers, would be a considerable performance hit.
Issues like this, not being addressed is why I’ve stopped playtesting atm,cos what’s the point if stuff never gets sorted
They don’t want to retrive his corpse. They are going out of their way to mug 'dem Bandits back
I agree that the villagers get unnecessary killed by raiders. The town hall bell needs to retreat all villagers of the map. Maybe add indeed bell towers and maybe some kind of placeble bunkers or mini fortress that doesnt cost gold per month. But keep the mini fortresses stocked with food/bows/ammo/firewood, so the villagers can shoot arrows as defence. And give the building a high HP so youre military has the time to go to the enemy. And i think a nice add on is to be able to produce crude weapons and villagers automatic arms them self with these weapons, a little defence/attack bonus. I saw a handy tip when enemy is coming, to toggle buolding production off. So the people are already gone in the area before the enemy is there.
I disagree that “bunkers or mini fortresses” shouldn’t cost upkeep. However, I do think that Military buildings like Barracks definitely should allow villagers/civilians to take shelter during a raid. Also, doing so should allow the specific Barracks to fire ranged attacks as they would do while Soldiers are stationed inside (but maybe less effective).

would be great if all towers and barracks stored extra bows, and arrows if you had spare, and villagers could use them.
