Villagers move into new homes

I think it would be fun to watch villagers move to a new house. Like when you build a new house, a villager who’s moving there would spawn at their old house with a wheelbarrow of luggage and bring it to their new home. Similarly, new immigrants - or current villagers waiting for a house to be built - would wheel a load of luggage from the town center. This adds nothing to the gameplay, just a little fun thing to watch happen.

Stops building a new house and when completed there’s already someone inside.
At this point I’d like to bring back an idea from long ago, the Census. Either automatic or triggered, it causes villagers to move around and relocate to a house which is closer to their workplace.

Someone mentioned in another post about the possibility of an INN to house traveling merchants, immigrants while housing is being built, while houses are upgrading or repaired after fire, etc.

Personally, I would like to see couples take new houses, plus or minus child/ren, leaving space in other houses for immigrants or new children born to the people in the house they left. A few days ago, I had a sick villager and found out she was one of 6 kids in a house of only children! I also had a house of 5 older men and one little girl. I assume that the game just takes the number of houses, adds up the occupancy and adds babies or immigrants wherever it can. But something approximating a family structure would be nice. When you build a new house and the game gives you a number of babies to fill out your population number (really annoying by the way), they can’t just all live in that new house !

Should already happen that if there’s housing closer they’ll move into it.

I posted about having family groups a little while ago. My basic idea was having couples assigned a last name when they immigrated that they pass down to their children, and would live in the same house. When children reach a certain age they become unmarried single people. At some random time they may randomly get “married” to another, move into a house together, and take the last name of one of the spouses. Single unmarried people would live in a house with “relatives” with the same last name if there is room, or if not, move into a house that has only unmarried people.
