Hey guys, lately I’ve been in the mood to get into an MMO, but don’t feel like going back to WoW.
I am however quite picky I guess, and 2 days of googling netted me zero results.
Must Haves:
Isometric camera angle
Mouse movement (not forced to use WASD)
Guilds
End game PVE such as 5,10, or even 25 man raids
Decent population (reasonable wait times when LFG)
Cost:
I’m willing to try just about anything, but my preferences are:
B2P: one time purchase grants full game access, pay only for expansions
True F2P:Only QOL and cosmetic purchases in shop for RL$
Freemium:F2P with optional membership that grants bonuses like +25% XP
Subscription: reasonable monthly payment, full access.
I’d prefer fantasy, but I’d be willing to try sci-fi or something.
Note: I don’t care for PvP, so while that’s obviously going to be in any MMO, so long as it’s not mandatory that’s fine.
Losk Ark and Lineage online show promise, but release dates are unknown.
I’d drop Lineage from your list if you’re not a big fan of PvP, because it’s almost a forgone conclusion you’ll have it forced on you. PvP forms the backbone of every NCsoft game. There’s simply no getting away from or around it. Was the thing I hated most about Lineage (while international servers still existed) and why I couldn’t stand Lineage 2.
I play Realm of the Mad God, it’s mad fun.
Yes it’s not isometric it’s top down sprites make it look like a Final Fantasy 2 knockoff, but it’s really charming.
The fun comes from it effectively having perma-death and is completely off the wall hectic with it’s everyone on the server ‘dogpile’ on the boss chaotic style.
