[Warder] Pure RETALIATION, REFLECT, INVINCIBLE, 100k+ DAMAGE, Hardcore Ultimate 100% Done (SF Gear)

Is it worth using something to lower enemy resist to speed things up?

So damage wise, it is just auto attack until then?

I had zero trouble starting out reflection/retaliation damage right out of the gate. Max briarthorn, go wolverine, hound, lizard, messangerof war. By 20’s my pet and myself were doing 1100 reflection damage, get oak skin maxed and a point in wendigo asap after briarthorn.

I experimented with that a bit but by the time I experimented with it I was doing 40k+ (and now 100k+) damage and most things in ultimate get 1 shotted with that. I am curious if it would prove better using reflect with ranged though. I’d be interested in testing this idea. If we lower resists and use procs that compliment it, they may prove quite useful as well, especially in ult.

Badnews, lost my level 82 HC warder to a massive double crit, the first one triggering all 3 of my circuit breakers and the second one finishing me off with a 16k hit, thankfully I have a sc level 40 warder.

That’s rough. Great attitude though.

Doh!

That sucks man. Sorry to hear that. Not easy losing a HC character, especially a lvl 82. Grieving time for that one. Chance to crit on Hetzer is 0% against all ultimate mobs and mob bosses. What was your DA (if you remember)? 16k crit is brutal. Most damage I ever took 7027 from Ultimate Loghorrean in B30. Since then they greatly increased armor and I haven’t received that much damage since the last two updates.

Welp. time to add him in your signature hall of fame for hardcore deaths lol. Lvl 82, He’s definitely worthy.

boss got lucky and was using Fire, my % resistance was around 45 or so, got hit by meteors and chunked, DA was up there.

share savefile pls

Seconded. It would be nice to try these builds for a few minutes before taking the time to level one.

Hello again, another devotion question :stuck_out_tongue:

Why not max out Targo the Builder for reflect, armor increase and shield block proc? Seems like the uptime would be good with grasping vines at 33%

I went ahead and specced into it, binding it to Savagery, it really makes a world of difference when it comes to casters and ranged mobs, I will skip out of lion, 4%hp + 100hp seems like a fair trade, no?

BTW, loving the spec! Will use it to gear my blademaster

I use another variation of the devotions also utilizing the full targo which i find extremely good, as long as you can keep your resists up with gear instead. I would say i am close to perfectly geared, so might be a problem unless your gear is there. (can’t kill the god tho FeelsBadMan)
I have also changed out the skills a bit, since i am never in any danger and only have 1 point in menhirs will. Instead i use tenacity of the boar and war cry. Insane health regen with this variation which means i run around taking no dmg… can allmost kill chtonian nemesis and sharzul without using any spells, although at some point i need to put down a wendigo totem when healing rain wears out…

Post #150 explains this. Basically I needed the +10 spirit to equip a couple amulets I couldn’t have otherwise. The health increases my HP pool high enough that menhir’s will is guaranteed to activate, for details and the rest, see post #150.

Is there anywhere a Devotion-Guide for this build?

Not a step-by-step guide but the devotions are mapped out on the first page. Basically until lvl 40 do whatever you’d like as long as you stay within the mastery bar limitations. At level 40 I’d start respeccin for retaliation. You want to head to messenger of war first and you don’t have any devotion manipulation like you do with other characters, just get the ones shown in the order it will let you.

Thanks, this help me enough to find the right way.

Hey got another one haha  would tenacity of the boar outweigh mogdrogens pact point for point especially at high level where the % regen would be best

Tried a similar idea. Here are my results (this is outside of combat).

All items, as you can see, are not rares; nothing needs to be ā€œfoundā€ in that sense (i.e. no need to look for certain rares or craft them).

Also, I didn’t like having so much armor, so I had to change some devotions around and focus on something other than piercing. Also, I preferred having different kinds of damages instead of just sticking to acid and pierce for the most part. You can see yourself (there’s also physical retaliation of about 2k that you can’t see in screenie).

I changed quite a bit around on devotions, too–I wanted to make sure I got the most out of survivability (hence lower armor and higher defense and lower health, but higher HP regen–about 900 or something with overguard).

This is what the setup looks like with items (since there’s no point in doing it without the item bonuses): http://grimcalc.com/build/oLVItf

Yes, there are a couple points wasted, but nothing I could do there.

Sorry for small pictures. I think I over estimated how much I scaled them down, lol. Oh and with the devotion ability that jacks up retaliation damages, it goes to 50k, lightning to 84.4k, Acid to 4.3k, and I’m not sure what vitality goes up to (guessing prob another couple thousand on the min and max end). This is also with level 1 devotions, and there are seven auras up: three come from items, the rest from class. So far, one of the highest crit damages I have had is 110k. Not sure if it goes higher, but that’s what I got as my top after I geared the char up and ran around for half an hour.

Looks like a nice one Lucid, I luckily just dropped The Final Stop, earlier today from a shrine half asleep, was happy enough to wake me completely up when I saw it on the ground.

Lol, congrats.

And yeah, the most this char has taken in damage (one hit) is a flat 2100. Basically unbeatable in 1 on 1, despite resists not being all maxed out. Nothing can really hurt it

I find the Final Stop to be not the best of all shields, but that’s strictly build-dependent. Still, it’s a vital item in making a retaliation char in general. From there, you can experiment. I find that Final Stop lowers my total retaliation damage, so I chose not to take it. I still need to figure out how to increase my poison and acid damage resistance, though (not to mention chaos…). I don’t want to make too may sacrifices, but it probably won’t matter because my reflect damage is high, and anything that kills me, kill itself in the process.

Let me know how your build comes along, too–it’s always good to know how other people make it to better understand the build.

Edit - I can share my save file if people really want it, but only after I change its name and change its items around so that everyone isn’t running around with clones of me. (And I’m hoping if I do keep the original paper doll–meaning, if I share it with a certain few people–that there’s someone who can optimize the char and give me some feedback to make it better in the direction that I was building.) But I won’t do this if there’s no demand for it.

Edit 2 - Okay, as I understand there are a bunch of peeps interested in this build, and seeing how it’s a trade secret, I’ve made the modifications necessary to not feel as a clone of my own. And in that case, it’s ready to be shared with everyone. For the interested, I’ll tell you what I’ve changed: more defense, less offense (about 15-20k less damage, but with near max resists and slightly higher DA). I think this is a good trade-off to feel what power its capable of. The only weakness there is one of low chaos resist, but I think that’s acceptable. It’s the same char as mine, but this version has had a few items swapped out and the name’s been changed. Should still be highly playable, and should survive better with acid damage, but may be a bit slower with killing. If you’re smart, you’ll figure out what you’re missing to make it as offensive as my own character at the cost of acid resistance. Have fun, and let me know how it goes. (For those unfamiliar, press ā€œYā€ to go to the second quickbar and to turn on the buffs before going out to kill stuff. The rest you should be able to figure out.)
