[Warder] Pure RETALIATION, REFLECT, INVINCIBLE, 100k+ DAMAGE, Hardcore Ultimate 100% Done (SF Gear)

Agree. That helm’s really good used that to help boost hp. It’s always in my character stash. One of the better faction gear that’s at a hands reach no grinding required.

Can someone explain to me why this devotion set up isn’t better than than the original: http://grimcalc.com/build/IYc7dN ? I have to say i’m not a big fan of Cleansing water therefor i swapped it with Solemn Watcher which gives better stats for the same points imo, instead of Crane(which isn’t bad resistance wise) i got Tree of Life which is insane(better stats and amazing active) I could swap out the active of Shield Wall but i like to be active^^ Would love to hear a reaction!

I’m now level 48, and about to give up. :frowning: I have 6 level 85 (all legit), and wanted to try that nice build… but…

It takes me 10 minutes to kill those ?$%! named casters/ranged! I don’t take any damage (my health is not even moving), but it’s like I don’t do any DPS on those pure casters/range. Named casters/range are taking soooo long to kill, and some are even out-healing my DPS! It’s so boring, and taking so damn long! :frowning: Reflect and retiliation should be the same stat! (IMHO). Retiliation should 100% apply to range/casters also IMHO…

Any help? I’m following this guide to the letter, using complete Perdition set, etc. Any tricks on killing those ranged/casters? I’m now totally avoiding any range/casters and just simply passing them with a sigh. :frowning:

If you’re not playing hardcore and am willing to take a few risks what I suggest is to weapon swap to a high dps two handed melee weapon with some bosses. However doing so will prevent the usage of overguard. it will still take time disposing foes but it will cut the wait time. I know your pain. I went through it but in the end this build allowed me to go to places some others struggle with to survive in ultimate. I even experienced reassigning my weapon attack to keyboard then jamming the key (I have no macros) so it’ll auto attack for me while I’m in the bath.

Keep at it. Don’t give up.

So I just took a massive 11k damage from Fabius in Ultimate. He dealt me with 3 consecutive deaths just when I thought he’s finished. Very odd since I’ve been farming the guy for over 3 days only recording a single death from inattention. At first I thought it might be a bug in the game. It’s like he hit me with his limit break (it’s a final fantasy 8 thing) when his health is low he has the ability to deal the highest damage possible to get out of trouble. He one shot me at 80 percent health. A surprising event since I’ve managed to collect 20 plus warrants from Cronley’s from excessively farming him. It got really annoying because I was in a loop of death, each and every time my health is high and his dangerously low then boom I’m dead. WTF? I swapped gear, relics in particular as my resists are pretty high except for aether. Boosted hp to 20k, when that didn’t help, tried to max retaliation damage. That didn’t work as well. What worked to get me off the cycle of death is equipping Menhir’s Bastion (it dropped my health to 16k) and timing the resist buff when I felt he was about to throw a massive bomb. My reward for killing him this:

Three Azragors dropped today. This one has the best retaliatory stat at 95%.

Here’s a screenshot of the damage I took and the embarrassing death count and obsessive play time.

I dunno why I even bother farming in Ultimate as it’s so much easier in Elite where my build can even abandon using wendigo totems in some battles. I think I get better drops in ult…not sure. Maybe it’s psychological or I’m sold with the in game tip which suggests better loot in higher difficulties.

After knowing a liittle more about the game on my playthorugh and looking at the gear you posted I realize I picked the wrong guys to side with. I wont have access to those awsome shoulderpads. Any advice on alternatives?

Is there any feasable way I can get healing rain instead of ulu waters? I am finding I almost never use it.

I am in act4 ultimate (hc) and I am not really satisfied with my tanking ability. there are a few enemies that I just cannot tank at all. Being unable to tank means being unable to deal damage so its a problem. my hp is 16k, resists are all max except bleed which is 60. Obviously I would like to raise my hp higher but it seems pretty hard to do without losing resists or a significant amount of damage. Yellows and greens definitly make up the majority of my gear but I do have 3 fancies: agony mace, final stop, dread armor. Any advice would be great. I guess the best option for getting better items is the locked lost god chests?

New damage record  186408, can we break 200k?

As usual click for big pic :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m using this build for my first foray into Hardcore and it’s working very well - thank you !
I finished Veteran (at level 55) yesterday and the nice Inquisitor at Fort Ikon gave me a Final Stop for it, that was really sweet of him
I went full Shaman first, not bothering with Devouring Swarm, going for Wendigo Totem and then tanked it out. Doing this, I found my enjoyment of the build was directly proportional to the amount of reflect %. Around levels 20-24, I found a nice green ring with reflect and a green shield with reflect, piercing retaliation and retaliation %. Those two carried me a long way and I’m absolutely going to get the Targo reflect proc.
As it was my first Hardcore char, the lack of components probably added to the struggle, but now it becomes better with every session.
I’m going to finish the reputations on Veteran before switching to Elite because I’m not yet completely happy with my resists (especially Aether).

Dawnbreaker shoulderguards are better for bis when you have duty and sledge. My tip would be trying to trade for some upgrades with whichever random legendaries you have, see the trading thread. Happy retaliating

There is a linked spec in this thread with healing rain, saccing some resistance devotions for it though.

Black legion has a high hp helmet also.

I run with shield wall devotion which has a great uptime if you bind it to savagery.

Well, the right question should be WHEN we break 300k damage…

Nice  Gonna go full retaliation again, challenge accepted  When the procs align on a low armor mob maybe… Time to go normal and find some mosquito-swarms!

Where do I suppose to get 1 mastery point? I can’t max my Devouring Swarm on lvl 6. Got one point from Kasparov.

I have not managed to find a single dawnbreaker item, I have only found dawnguard set. Also… I am encountering a new problem, everything I kill seems to receive an mf penalty or something, I am not getting blues or greens from any bosses anymore, this is in ultimiate diff and my guy is 85. Do monsters get mf penalties if you run them too much?

and what is bis?

so i have been following your guide on lvling the warder.
im on elite and i just killed the warden and the bad thing is im lvl 46.
i killed last boss on normal at 41.
i’m having issues farming because everything dies too slow and ranged mobs take to long.
i sometimes have to skip those “elite eyes” cause they dont do any melee damage. i also picked 2 points for warcry with break morale to sillence casters into doing some melee damage. except for those eyes, that doesnt seem to work
i have 68% damage reflect and i do aroung 7k to 13k retaliation damage i just pick Shield wall on targo to speed up the reflect.

is there a good place to be to lvl faster? where there arent that many ranged mobs and every mob attack faster?

One thing youll have to accept with this build is there will always be mobs you have to just run past, mage types are those. This build can kill them, but its too slow. rushing through the whole zone and getting what you need seems to be the only viable option. at 136% reflect I can sort of kill them but I dont bother unless I absolutley have to because waiting is waay too inefficient. ( its still slow at 136)

zones I preferred:
-rushing straight to the warden.
-plains of strife cthonic gate ( almost all melee monsters, lots of big chthonic mobs that rip themselves)
-east marsh
-wasp queen hive
-bastion of chaos

zones I dont like:
-doing cronly: because he is gated by a caster that you cant skip. takes time.
-AETHER ZONES***

Thanks for the info Yumil. going to try some of those zones now

I recommend you to farm Twin Fall wasp nest + surrounding and the Royal Hive in Rotting Croplands, everything melees there and you can farm some nice Gollus’ Rings. It takes about 10 minutes per run for 10-15 heroes + bosses.

After you finished most of the gearing, add Fabius in to the mix. Just ignore everything else that is ranged and rush to him, it takes an extra 5 minutes. Oh, and take my advice, kill the Heretics first if presented near Fabius.

Even with 200%+ reflect, ranged and caster types of boss are pains in the butt. It took me a good 15-20 minutes to kill that Bloodlord Thalonis, and I don’t even want to try Anasteria…

Direni isn’t too bad as he melees some. Cronley’s also sometimes has clusters of 4 wasp heroes that die quickly, apart from potential fabius which is probably the easiest nemesis for this build. There are also 3-4 melee human heroes which go down fast, and cronley himself who dies quickly if you dispell his shield. A cronley run takes me 3 minutes on average, 4 if fabius is up. The aetherial nemesis being by far the worst though…

Least favorite regular mobs are the eyes and dealing with multiple witchdoctors/priests (they don’t heal themselves).

There is no penalty on drop, just RNG.

Base solely on my personal experience, due to mobs’ higher level on Ultimate, drops tend to be higher level as well (I got a LOT Dawnguard sets myself too). For level 68 legendary items, I farm on Elite. Again, it might be just RNG.

BiS = Best in Slot (items)
