Warder Question, Primal Strike/Savagery simultaneously

Hi folks, new player here.

My first char is a lvl 24 Warder. I’m going 2 handed and lightning damage focused. I’ve looked around the forums a bit and although I’ve found plenty of good Warder builds, I haven’t found an answer to my specific question.

Is it wise to Use Brute Force, Savagery and Primal Strike all at once? I notice most Primal Strike Warders use Primal as their main damage source and just skip right past Savagery. They also take Thunderous Strike in order to spam it. Savagery Warders seem to skip right over Primal. This makes me think I’m doing things wrong. I was hoping to skip Thunderous Strike and use Primal just for crowd clear/heavy damage while the rest of my single target damage comes from Brute Force and Savagery. I’m using the Soldier skills almost completely for defense.

Am I wasting points and going off in too many different directions?

In a nutshell, yes you would be wasting an enormous amount of skill points using both. At higher levels a significant portion of your damage will come from procs that will more than handle AoE fights with groups of enemies, so savagery doesn’t need to be bolstered by primal strike as it does the trick just fine. Primal strike really isn’t even worth putting more than 1 point into unless you plan on taking thunderous strike to use it as your main spammable attack.

So basically choose one or the other and put the rest of your points into more wothwhile things.
