I have vague memories of patch notes addressing it in favor of clubs. Being potent as white weapons at the very beginning. In a difference of the pain in the ass a shiv can be.
Haven’t played for quite a bit to keep in track.

Should I have posted in the bug section, is my GD copy fucked up, or is it me blatantly wrong and bitching around for no reason?

I don’t think they ever were replaced, so I’d say ‘bitching around for no reason’ :wink:

I don’t really recall starter weapons being replaced. The only discussion I remember was Grohuf going on about how awful the Shiv was due to Armor Piercing Mechanics in his usually-comically-inflammatory manner. I think they maybe gave a slight base damage increase to the Shiv.

Why would you care at all about starter weapon, you’ll get a better drop in about 30 seconds of playing no matter what it is.
